Parking Brake Problems of Chevrolet Silverado 3500

The contact owns a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. The contact stated that the parking brake will not hold, which causes unintended vehicle movement. He took the vehicle to a local repair shop and the mechanic attempted to adjust the cables. Immediately after the repair, the failure continued. The manufacturer stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign id number 05v161000 (parking brake); therefore, they would not assume any responsibility. The vehicle has not been repaired according to the recall. The failure mileage was 60,000 and current mileage was 71,500.
