I lease a car through carvana, and they informed me that the car was safe and properly inspected. In the first 2 weeks, I took the Chevrolet to a certified dealership for a routine inspection. I was informed that the vehicle has severe mechanical and electrical issues. The engine needs to be replaced entirely because they found shredded metal pieces in the engine oil. The car also requires an entirely new steering and alignment system. It also needs a new heating system. The total cost is 7700, which is close to the current value of the car. I have informed the caravan and silver rock third-party insurance. They failed to inspect the vehicle and follow dot safety requirements. This car should not be available for purchase. This car requires several weeks of repair, which puts me at risk of driving. I could have easily ended up in a deadly accident because of the condition of the vehicle. This company has committed gross negligence while falsely promoting a car as safe. During this initial review of the car, carvan informed us that it has never been in an accident, has not been resold with parts, and does not show wear and tear on the vehicle. I have documentation outlining the extended warranty coverage, purchase agreement, and diagnosis and analysis done by the Chevrolet dealership. This company is committing consumer fraud and putting its customers at risk. This company is still charging monthly for a car that is legally unsafe to drive.

Randomly when I get into my car and crank the lights on my dash, screen will appear- other times they will not. Randomly when driving she will just be driving normal and immediately she shuts down and off with no warning signs and no warning lights on dash. This issue has been ongoing since the purchase of her. It has been on a interstate highway in 5pm traffic, a very small town in non on Sunday after church.

At railway parking lot, first car blocked when backing out of space. After 3 tries, able to move on, exiting lot and about to turn right into street, car swerved hard right by itself and loudly hit curb. Passenger side wheel and tire totally damaged. I had to get it towed to collision shop. It is still at the shop where am told repair at minimum will cost over $ 1400. 00! I found 2 recalls emails that same night and trul y believe the car malfunctioned. Am just thankful no one was involved but me. Could have been dramatic if car was on the road and malfunction made me hit another vehicle instead of a curb. Have had to rent a car, and cost is mounting. Found thru online research that other Spark owners had same problem. This could cause fatal accident. Even when fixed, I will be petrified to drive this car again with fear of recurrence of same problem.

Steering went out while driving at around 50 mph. No warning was given by the car's monitoring systems until the event happen and there was no other previous steering issues prior to this event. Error codes did illuminate only after steering was gone and showed a p 68 error code. The vehicle has 32,331 miles on it, has no accident history or mechanical/electrical repair history.
Driving 3-5 mph in a parking lot, while in the apex of the left turn to park in the spot, the steering wheel started to shutter left and right, not so violently that I could not control the vehicle, because I was driving very slow, but just enough to feel, and see the steering wheel move left and right between 1/8 - 1/16 inch in rapid pulses. It lasted about 5 - 7 seconds. The vehicle only had 26 miles on the odometer. The new vehicle was delivered by flatbed truck on 03/31/2020 with only 5 miles on the odometer, the date of the event was 04/05/2020. Weather dry, tires full. It concerns me, as my wife drive this vehicle with my grandchildren. Please advise. Thank you.

I was driving a chevy Spark 2015 to my local supermarket, less than 3 or so miles from my home. I was several miles under the 40 mph speed limit. I was in the right lane of a two lane road. I could see stopped traffic quite a ways ahead of me ¿ also in the right lane. There were at least 6-7 cars in front of me and a truck in front of the cars. I could see the cars/truck were stopped for the stoplight but they were quite a ways ahead of me. There was no one in the left lane so I decided to make a lane change as there was plenty of room ahead of me to do so. The next thing I knew I lost control of my car and it seemed to accelerate and slammed hard into the car in front of me. The police officer called to the scene said I couldn't have been making a lane change because I hit the car in front of me. I explained to him several times that I was definitely making a lane change but I could not explain the accident or how I had hit a car in front of me. The police officer told me I must have been distracted. I told the officer I was definitely not distracted and was very aware of my surroundings and the other vehicles. The officer again told me I couldn¿t have been making a lane change since I hit the car straight on. It was actually the police officers¿ assertion that I couldn¿t have been making a lane change that later made me look online to see if there were any other complaints about chevy Sparks. I discovered driver complaints about steering wheel lockup and acceleration problems. I wasn't certain about anything at the time of the accident except that it made no sense given the fact that I was in the process of making a lane change just before I hit the other car. However, I am now convinced the accident was the result of something outside of my control and I believe there was an issue with both the accelerator a well as the steering wheel locking up.

Have a 2013 chevy Spark. It has already had an engine replaced at just over 20,000 miles and continues to have the same problems as before the engine was replaced. It continuously goes back and forth to the dealer, yet "no issues or codes" are ever found. To me this car is a potential death trap every time it's driven. It continuously shows the engine light. . . Blinking away. . . Along with the traction control that frequently is on with it. It then revs extremely high and you can't go over 20 miles an hour because of fear the car will explode. It also shakes during all of this. These are all the same problems that the car has had since before the first engine decided to just blow. . . On a highway. . . Just over 20,000 miles. Please also note that there have been multiple recalls, for this car as well. Cute car. . . But it ends there. It's a death trap on wheels!! there should be a major recall and class action lawsuit on these cars!.

I was driving on the turnpike near west palm beach and I lost control of the vehicle completely. The brakes was not working and the steering locked on me preventing me to turn the wheel resulting in the vehicle crashing into the grass to a guard rail. Also the air bags in the from did not deploy. Only the side air bags. I injured my head and had to get stitches because of this.

I was driving down the street at 45 mph. It was at night. As soon as I went through the first green light, I accelerated (pushed on the gas). When I came upon the second light, I took my foot off the accelerator to brake. All of a sudden the accelerator was not working properly. It would not slow down. I tried applying the brakes, but it seemed as if the car was out of control. I could not steer right or anything. I hit to curbs and knocked down to city signs. The air bags did not deploy. The fire department along with ems got me out of the car. The car was totaled.
After fully charging up the electric vehicle, going down hill at approx 40mph, lost all power in brakes, steering control and the forward propulsion system. Due to loss of power veered out of control onto oncoming traffic and braking system was not responding to pumps. After pulling on steering wheel hard finally got vehicle under control and pulled to the side. Vehicle would not restart and had to be towed to dealer. Did not have vehicle and did not drive the vehicle more than 30 miles before incident happened. 2014 chevy Spark electric vehicle. Returned vehicle to dealership permanently.

The steering wheel controls are not backlit and I accidentally set cruise control while driving through the city. Due to not being able to see the controls almost caused a serious accident.
The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Spark. The car acts sluggish and act like it is going to stall out when you push on the gas pedal after you slow down or come to a complete stop. It also has tried to stall out while driving three times when you press on the gas pedal with other than slight pressure. At low speeds the steering goes a little crazy so that you can't control the car very well. I did send a similar complaint to Chevrolet corporation back in approximately March through their website but have not heard back from them. I did let them know this car is dangerous and should not be sold. My son had the accident happen on may 4, 2014 when he had stopped to get gas. He was pulling away from pumps and the car kept going right into curb because it was trying to stall out. I will be submitting same information again to Chevrolet corporation through their website.
The steering wheel controls do not illuminate when you turn the lights on the car and makes it difficult to turn off/on the cruise control of the vehicle. You have to take your attention off the road to see the buttons at night.
