36 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 12/15/2019

I was experiencing no problems with the brakes, but received notice NHTSA campaign number: 19v645. Took vehicle in to markley motors on November 1, 2019 for recall. Noticed no difference. On December 15, 2019 while backing up at a slow speed in a parking garage, brakes felt noticeably different, and required all my effort to stop. Took vehicle to len lyall Chevrolet in denver, where they advised me that the brake vacuum pump needed to be replaced. I feel that the recall was insufficient and should have covered the actual problem, which is evidently a defective vacuum pump.

37 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 08/29/2019

Vacuum booster failure due to problematic vacuum pump. Stiff brake pedal and unable to stop vehicle. This is a safety problem that needs to be recalled by general motors.

38 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 07/23/2019

Vehicle loses braking capability at low speeds, sometimes voltage issues cause stability control error, and even complete loss of engine power and vehicle control (engine shutoff). This has been recurring approximately once per day for two weeks, generally at very low speeds and turning into a parking spot. Typically, abs engage and power brake assist is lost, which requires more more effort to stop the vehicle. Can also happen in reverse.

39 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 07/13/2019

Chevy is aware of this issue. The brake vacuum pump needs to be moved onto a broader recall and not just under a "special coverage" this past weekend at gas pump our break pedal and the ability of the car to stop almost caused a major tragic accident. Fortunately last minute the truck stopped after I put both feet on the pedal and pushed as hard as I could. This issue left unresolved will get someone killed. These vacuum pumps need to replaced and chevy needs to stand behind the issue. The people that don't have 600 bucks to replace these pumps are driving around with a loaded weapon on the streets if they are outside the parameters of their bulletin. I know chevy will do the right thing and recall and fix this brake problem. This was at slow speeds in a gas station backing to get closer to the gas pump. There was no accident, no report filed, or police called but this could have ended poorly.

40 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 07/02/2019

The brakes seem to loose power. It appears that the vehicle is loosing vacuum and the operator looses power brakes. I almost rear ended a car during a traffic backup on the interstate because of the loose of power braking efficiency. The vacuum pump is not making the appropriate amount of vacuum to have power brakes.

41 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 06/29/2019

Vehicle brake pedal becomes hard to press and will not stop vehicle adequately at low speeds (<15 mph).

42 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 06/19/2019

Brakes do not work correctly at any low speeds. Was diagnosed by a certified mechanic as a brake booster pump. The car is completely unsafe and undriveable until I get it repaired.

43 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 06/14/2019

Tl the contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact took the vehicle to smicklas Chevrolet (located at 8900 northwest expy, oklahoma city, ok 73162, (405) 943-5721) to be repaired per NHTSA campaign number: 18v586000 (steering). The dealer informed the contact that the steering gears needed to be replaced. In addition, the contact received a notice for an unknown recall regarding the brakes. The brakes were repaired, but the contact was informed that the engine vacuum pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 84,800.

44 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 06/07/2019

Was coming up to a stoplight with major traffic and had stiff to no brakes. Was within inches of hitting the person in front of me. My service brake assist light came on. I was told by a chevy service department that my brake vacuum pump had failed and that this was common in the 2015 Suburban.

45 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 05/26/2019

I was driving my 2015 Chevrolet Suburban with 7 family members at about 45 mph as we were coming into a city. Two of us started to hear a slight squeal like when a belt slips. After that I shut off the a/c to see if it was that. It was not. About that time traffic started to slow down in front of me. When I stepped on the brake to slow down it was hard and at the bottom of the pedal stroke. I lifted the pedal with my foot and it just fell back down. I was able to get the Suburban to stopped in time before hitting the car in front of me. I had to drive the vehicle cautiously for another mile or so to find a safe spot to pull off. I had the vehicle towed 90 miles to a dealer close to a relative as we live another 250 miles away. When I talked to the dealer, he said there was a service bulletin for this issue but I believe he aid it was only covered up to 69,000 miles. Our Suburban has 108,000 miles on it as we live in a very rural location. It is 45 miles on way to the grocery store. I have owned gm products all my life and have never been as disappointed in their handling of their customers as I am now. This issue with the brake vacuum pump has been a known issue and they are not covering the repair of it.

46 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 05/22/2019

Vehicle was in motion, at slow speeds (under 25mph) and when the brake is pushed, the brake pedal became hard but failed to stop the vehicles forward motion. This happens intermittently and is a huge safety issue. This occurs only at slow speeds and prevent the driver from stopping the vehicle even if the brake pedal is pumped. This occurred again today and chevy was contacted and stated they have no recalls or issues with their brake system even though there have been numerous complaints logged to NHTSA. When this occurs there is no braking for the vehicle and will cause an accident if not fixed.

47 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 05/10/2019

Brakes lock up and can't stop the vehicle on numerous occasions. Can't push the brakes in and poses a huge risk to accidents. Needs recalled.

48 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 05/03/2019

On quite a few occasions over the years, while driving at low speeds and depressing the brake pedal, the car has been very difficult to stop. This presents a scary situation because I am a 200 lb man and I can barely stop this large vehicle. My fiance is very petite and she is terrified to drive it. I know this is a very common problem with the 2015 chevy trucks and SUV's because I personally know others with this exact same problem. It seems as though chevy is just biding time awaiting for the auto warranties to expire rather than fix this deadly problem.

49 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 05/03/2019

My condenser went out at 96k. I contacted gm and they stated that they had a recall on the condenser. Took the vehicle in to a gm/Chevrolet dealership and they began to inform me that the recall only is for vehicles less than 60k. They stated that gm knows there is a problem but due to mileage my vehicle is not covered. Due to living in the south I can not afford to have a car and not have air. So we fixed the condenser out of pocket. 1st-the condenser part was on a national back order and they stated that it could take up to a month to receive the part. Alert that there is a problem with the manufactory making condensers for gm cars. 2nd-the part was $200-300, although the service was $1100. 3rd-6 months after the replacement of the condenser and all working fine, paying out of pocket. The transmission goes out and the connection is associated with the replacement of the condenser. Gm is aware of this issue but only wants to assist with people who mileage is less than 60k. There is obviously a serious problem and gm has not taken ownership! total cost in 2yrs for repairing and fixing 1part that lead to 3parts $4. 5k.

50 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 04/23/2019

Brakes must be pushed extremely hard to stop the vehicle. Vacuum pump for brake system is faulty. Gm will not cover or warranty as the bumper to bumper warranty has expired. Braking issue has nearly resulted in collisions. Called murdock Chevrolet on April 24, 2019, but they stated they were not aware of any recalls or service bulletins related to the pump or brakes.

51 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 04/19/2019

At low speed (backing into a parking spot on the street) the brake pedal got very hard and the vehicle would barely stop. I then did not go into that space to avoid hitting the car behind me. I pulled into a parking lot across the street. When backing in, I could not stop (moving with car at idle engine speed). The hitch hit the concrete wall-happily no damage done. With research, I find this is a common problem that gm has not addressed. I usually occurs at slow speeds or stop and go slow speed traffic. This is unpredictable and very unsafe. The vehicle is a 2015 with only 35,000 miles. The vacuum pump (the failure) is bolted to the engine and engine-driven and lubricated by engine oil which puts my engine at risk. Yet none of this is covered by the power train warranty. This is not a slow, but a sudden failure item. Very unsafe if it happens in school parking lot picking up my children, church, close spaces (neighborhoods, parking areas).

52 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 04/08/2019

Took vehicle to dealer to find source of loud tapping noise. Dealer said it was an unusually noisy brake vacuum booster, but was operating normally. 3 days later, as I rolled into a drive through, the brake pedal became very hard and the vehicle was very hard to stop. I am able to replicate the problem with consistency. At low engine speed, the brakes become hard to push after 4 or 5 pedal applications. The power booster is not getting enough vacuum at low engine speeds to maintain safe braking pressures.

53 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 04/05/2019

Loss of brakes at low speeds.

54 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2019

There is a vibration at the speed of 70-85. My breaking has issues. I press pedal and it feels like its "broke". I try and stop at times (more often than not) and I really have to press and its like the brakes are not stopping my vehicle at all. Very bumpy ride. Should be smoother and I think it has to do with the wheels and vibration. Vehicle was purchased April of 2019 and it seems to get worse. Husband has spoken with dealership and its just kind of blown off. We researched to trouble shoot and found many recalls that describe what is happening.

55 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 03/26/2019

When backing up or driving forward slowly the brake peddle gets really hard and vehicle is very difficult to stop. Almost was not able to stop. I was in a parking lot, used my emergency brake to stop as well as putting the car into neutral.

56 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 03/16/2019

Vacuum pump failure. The issue is presented when the vehicle is driving at low speed and the brake pedal is pressed 3 or 4 times in a short period after that pedal goes all the way down and stop the car is close to impossible. Lou bachrodt Chevrolet - coconut creek representative told me that that's the way this kind of truck work and I need to learn how to drive that truck.

57 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 03/13/2019

Water leak inside cabin. Water build up in driver side floor board, either coming from on star/shark fin antenna, can trace water leak up under the dashboard to where all the electrical wirings are. Lost on star and gps service due to this. Random dash light and interior light flickering. Two incidents so far where vehicle shuts off while driving. One on nearby street and other on the highway. Lost steering and braking ability. No electricity so could not turn on hazard lights to alert other drivers around me.

58 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 03/06/2019

At times, it is very difficult to brake the vehicle. It requires an increased effort to depress the brake pedal at low speeds. This is similar to an investigation that is on going regarding a failing vacuum pump for gmm model vehicles.

59 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 03/03/2019

The bake pedal become hard, and the brake distance is dangerously increased.

60 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2019

I experienced break failure at low speeds, most significantly at low rpm. When I tried to apply the brakes the pedal locked and I heard a grinding/clicking sound and was not able to push the pedal down. I experience this most when on a surface with a decline. Also when I switch the car from park to drive the car jolted forward when I took the pressure off the break. The feeling was very similar to the feeling you get when you apply heavy pressure to the breaks and you kind of fly forward. Chevrolet confirmed a leak in the vacuum pump. The vehicle has 53,000 miles. It is no longer covered under warranty. It is a very scary feeling not to have breaks. I hope general motors issues a recall to protect consumers.

61 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2019

Tl-the contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Suburban 1500. The contact the contact stated that he had to engage the vehicle wth force to be able to bring the vehicle to a stop. The vehicle was taken to beck Chevrolet 561 central park avenue yonkers NY, 10704 phone (914) 965-2400. To have NHTSA campaing 19v645000 (service brakes hydraulic) performed, the dealer repragrammed the brake control module however the repair did not correct the failure. The manufacturer was contact the manufacturer and advised the contact that repaire will only reprogrammed the module it will not replace vaccum pump will not be replaced. 62 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 02/21/2019

Driving at slow speeds pulling a trailer, vehicles brake pedal was very hard and they would not stop vehicle. Another time without trailer same thing, very very hard brake pedal at slow speed, could not stop vehicle had to apply emergency brake with putting the car in neutral and then in park to stop.

63 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 01/09/2019

I have the same problem with my 2015 Suburban. Brake pedal gets hard at very slow speed usually around gas station. This has shown up as over 150 complaints on the same model it must be a recall. Has happened 5 times.

64 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 01/07/2019

Tl the contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Suburban. While attempting to reverse out of a parking space, the brake pedal became stiff when depressed and the vehicle would not stop. The contact stated that the failure occurred sporadically for three weeks. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000.

65 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 01/06/2019

While on a city street in stop and go traffic the brake pedal became extremely hard to push and because of this it was very difficult to stop the vehicle.

66 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 12/31/2018

While parking the vehicle at a slow speed the brakes became extremely hard to push and the vehicle barely came to a stop. This has happened multiple times in the past few months. When we had it checked by the dealership they said they couldn't find anything wrong.

67 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 12/29/2018

Intermittent hard brake pedal and no brakes driving slow speeds in stop-and-go traffic on i70 driving downhill out of the mountains toward denver, CO.

68 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 12/27/2018

Brake pump assist while backing up in a parking lot and almost struck another vehicle. Vehicle brakes operated normally going home and failed again while backing into my garage. I had to apply heavy pressure while braking both times. Only 65k miles.

69 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 12/21/2018

Driving at low speeds the braking systems fails to stop the vehicle. This almost caused us to strike a parked vehicle in a parking lot. The dealership stated the brake vacuum pump has a leak and/or is faulty.

70 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 12/10/2018

Break assistance stopped working as I pulled into a parking spot at work. I needed to put extreme pressure on the break pedal in order to stop the truck at very low speed. Vacuum pump was replaced in truck.
