38 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 10/29/2024

While driving my vehicle, it suddenly shook, a vibration started, and then the car began misfiring. It wouldn’t accelerate, kept shaking, and several warning lights appeared on the dashboard, such as engine, traction, and esc. At that time, I was with my two sons, aged [xxx] and [xxx] . We were turning onto an empty and quiet street, so our safety was not at risk. However, if this had happened in heavy traffic, it could have posed a significant danger, as the vehicle’s power dropped dramatically, and it all happened very suddenly. I took the car to a mechanic. Initially, the fuel injector was replaced, but the problem persisted, and the mechanic recommended an engine replacement. After that, I went to an authorized service center, and they also recommended an engine replacement. I purchased a new engine from Chevrolet and had the mechanic install it. The mechanic told me that this is a common issue and mentioned that two other Suburban engines were replaced this year. My next complaint will also be related to my second vehicle, which is the same model Suburban, experiencing similar issues. I own two 2022 Suburbans, and both have had their engines replaced in the past two months. The removed engines were sent to Chevrolet, but I have not received any information regarding their condition or the cause of the failure. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

39 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2024

While traveling back from labor day weekend on September 1, 2024, I was driving in the dallas fort worth area when I experienced loss of power to our vehicle on a major highway (ne820 and blue mound rd) and directly on a bridge with my entire family in the vehicle (4 kids and all of our luggage). It was a very dangerous and scary situation. We had to wait one hour for a tow truck to come and take my vehicle to the closest gm dealership. I was left stranded, 3 hours from my home with my four children and luggage. The Chevrolet dealership contacted me 9 days later and informed me the technician looked at the vehicle and determined the engine was locked up/seized. It would take 9 months to get the vehicle back into the shop to determine what caused the issue and then take 6-12 months for a new engine. I have a family of 6 and I'm left car-less for two years. Yet I still have to make the monthly payment on a vehicle that I won't be driving or be in possession of. My biggest issue: gm has known that they have had engine issues for many years. Particularly, with dynamic fuel management causing lifter issues which leads to engine failure, yet never disclosed this to me when I purchased the vehicle. Furthermore, they never disclosed that the issue was so prevalent that motors were back ordered for over a year. Consumers are being misled into spending their hard earned money on vehicles that have major mechanical design flaws known to the manufacturer. Once the mechanical flaw is realized, the vehicle can't be repaired for up to two years. Hiding this data from consumers should be criminal. Furthermore, general motors to this point has been no help, with the gm customer satisfaction team telling us they can't do anything until a dealer diagnosis the issue, and the dealer stating they can't diagnose the issue until may of next year, at which time they would then look to order the motor which will take 9-12 months to deliver and install.

40 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

While driving on vacation our car just slowed down gave the message, “reduced acceleration, drive with care” and then shut off while on the high way. We were able to start it again but after that haven’t had that message but have had the message to service safety restraint system multiple times. 41 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 07/19/2024

As I was driving, in July of 2024. I noticed that that I had a traction control system warning on my dashboard. I didn’t think of it to been serious. Then all sudden the engine kind stalled. So the car wasn’t going passed 40 miles per hour. So I managed to take it to dealership. Once there the technician mentioned to me that I wasn’t alone with this type of engine failure. He added and showed me another Suburban with the issue. He said that the engine needs to be completely replaced. Because there is metal in the the oil pan. He added the cost of the repair would be $8000 to $12000. So that’s when I decided to take the car to the automation chevy dealership. They confirmed the issue and charged me $8200 to fix it. I really expected gm to cover the cost. But I was that they would not. Upon further research I found out that that many people had the same engine issue. I am hoping that the government should take action to investigate these engines failures. I think gm failed his customers especially in the covid era of 21 and 22. Thx.

In several separate unreplicable instances, the vehicle has turned off while driving, once on the highway, once on my street, once turning across heavy traffic, and others. I've almost died a couple times and I've taken it to the dealership several times, they have not been able to find anything wrong with it and have been unable to replicate the issue. The engine has been replaced, and it was happening before and since. My 2023 is also doing the same thing.

46 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 04/08/2024

While driving on the highway at 55 mph during a long-distance trip, the engine of my 2022 Chevrolet Suburban (6. 2l v8) failed suddenly without any warning lights, messages, or prior symptoms. The vehicle lost power unexpectedly, creating an extremely dangerous situation. I was traveling to a national wheelchair basketball tournament and had a passenger in the vehicle at the time. Our safety was immediately at risk due to the abrupt loss of power in a high-speed traffic environment. The vehicle was towed to the dealership, where the issue was confirmed as a complete engine failure. The dealership later replaced the engine under warranty. I was informed that the engine installed was the same model currently under active recall (n252494001), which affects the 6. 2l v8 engine in this vehicle type due to defective crankshaft or connecting rod components. The failed engine is no longer available for inspection, but the dealership should have records of the inspection and replacement. There were no warning lamps, error codes, or drivability issues prior to the failure. The malfunction was immediate and severe.

- truck makes a sizzling sound when parked - car wouldnt start and needed battery jump, unknown source draining the battery - truck has engine issues , started shaking and died in the middle of the highway, gm replaced engine - engine replaced after less than a week, truck would not start, gm replaced starter - after 2 days and using the vehicle once, truck would not start again. Gm is trying to root cause issue but cant find a resolution since the car stopped when we were on the highway and none of the fixes seem to be working I am worried that the car will abruptly stop again and put my life and others at risk.
