Hood Latch problems of the 1996 Chevrolet Tahoe

Three problems related to hood latch have been reported for the 1996 Chevrolet Tahoe. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Hood Latch problem

Failure Date: 11/09/2001

While driving at 65mph the front hood opened on its own and was pushed against the windshield completely obstructing vision. Vehicle did not hit a bump, nor had the hood been opened recently.

2 Hood Latch problem

Failure Date: 04/20/2001

Hood latch released while driving on freeway at 70 mph. Hood wrapped over windshield and obscured forward vision completely.

3 Hood Latch problem

Failure Date: 05/19/1996

Estimated speed between 20 to 40 mph hood release,d lifting/blocking drivers vision. Please describe details.
