Two problems related to differential unit have been reported for the 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Rear differential/spider gears came apart during normal driving, parts shot out of transmission case, major rupture, has happenned on numerous other Tahoes, astro vans, s10s, etc, that all have the same rear end.
Differential made grinding noise when the vehicle came to a stop.
