1 Brake Antilock Wheel Speed Sensor problem

Failure Date: 07/06/2015

Hello I am experiencing the exact symptoms described in gm recall 05068c "these vehicles may have a condition permitting corrosion to occur between the front hub/bearing assembly and the wheel speed sensor. If the brakes are applied while the vehicle is traveling at a speed of greater than 6 km/h (3. 7 mph) but less than 16 km/h (10 mph), the corrosion may cause an unwanted antilock brake system (abs) activation. If this condition occurred where stopping distance is limited, a crash could occur. " however, my VIN is not included in the breakpoints, even though I have a 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe. I can demonstrate that this is the problem in two ways, first by reproducing with a scan tool that shows unexpected abs activation during stopping at this low speed, and second after pulling the abs fuse this problem does not happen. This clearly points to the abs issue mentioned in the recall. I have contacted two local dealerships, and after I asked about recalls they said my VIN was invalid. Then I contacted the chevy contact center and they said there are no recalls for my vehicle. So now what - should I just replace the abs sensors and move on, or is there any chance of getting this acknowledged by gm as part of the recall?.

2 Brake Antilock Wheel Speed Sensor problem

Failure Date: 01/05/2015

The contact owns a 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while driving at low speeds, the abs activated independently. The dealer stated that the vehicle had unwanted abs activation. The dealer cleaned the grounds, calipers, and rotors, lubed the wheel speed sensor mounts, and checked and cleaned the hubs. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 05v379000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 148,250.

3 Brake Antilock Wheel Speed Sensor problem

Failure Date: 11/20/2007

Abs activates at speeds below 7mph while braking. Have almost run into a vehicle and person due to this failure. The Tahoe was originally purchased in texas but has been in PA. For 3+ years. My vehicle should have been included in the recall but I was told it was not, doesn't make sense.

4 Brake Antilock Wheel Speed Sensor problem

Failure Date: 02/25/2007

Vehicle did not stop at intersection when brakes were applied. The abs sounded as if it had engaged but my wheels did not stop. I had my 2 children in the vehicle and fortunately nothing was coming and therefore no one was hurt or killed. I reviewed the NHTSA website to investigate and found that campaign number 05v379000 covers this problem and that a recall had been issued to remove corrosion from the speed sensors and apply rust inhibitor. I contacted apple Chevrolet in york, PA and on 2/28/07, they found the that my wheel speed sensors had excessive rust build up. I was also informed that my vehicle was not included in this recall. I was charged $241. 65 for these repairs and I feel that I should not be responsible for this. How can oer 1. 3 million vehicles made between 1999 and 2002 be recalled for this same problem and my vehicle is not included?.
