When I fill my gas tank up with fuel the fuel light shows low fuel when the tank is full. I am unable to tell what the actual fuel amount is. The light comes on often. This has been happening for about 6 months now. I am not sure how to correct it.
The problem is ongoing, the fuel indicator is not stable, it registers low fuel when there is a full tank. The needle is not reporting actual fuel amount. The safety hazard would be running our of gas and possibly causing an accident. Is this a defect from the manufacture or wear and tear. Vehicle:2001 chevy Tahoe mileage now is 98,000 plus miles. The problem has been ongoing for over a year.
