general problems of the 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe - part 1

Drivers side air bag barely inflated but something is causing aching in my ear and hearing is a little funny. My arm was cut from whatever blew out of 1 of the front airbags. I never received anything about any recalls.

Dashboard cracking in multiple places.

While driving the top part of my dashboard cracked and busted open. A piece of plastic came flying right at me and almost hit me in the face and could of caused me to crash while on the highway. Very poorly made dashboard by chevy they should be ashamed of themselves.

Dashboard cracked in multiple areas lifting up. Seatbelt jams up.

Not able to open drunk safely, it may or may not open and sometime when it does it will start closing on its own and then at a certain point will slam shut and can’t reopen until it is ready my son almost got his head chopped off so now I’m not able to open my trunk at all very scared.

Dash parts falling apart, loose trim, broken trim, unsafe and illy constructed dash. Loose parts directly resulted of general motors lack of providing quality products may put lives in danger.

Dash severely cracked into several different pieces. My children and I could be seriously hurt if that where to go airborne through the vehicle. No warnings! everyone is terrified that had come in contact with this situation.

The O2 sensor can lose from its housing. I had never done any repairs to this O2 sensor. Which it is located at position bank 1 sensor 2. The sensor connection came lose from where it is held on to the frame. It caused the wiring to get slack and wrap around the drive shaft. This happened as I was driving home from work. I started to hear a noise coming from the vehicle. As I looked underneath the SUV I seen the O2 sensor was caught on the shaft. I thought it was just a once time incident that had occurred to me. But as I went to the salvage yard to get a harness. They told me this was a common issue on these model trucks.

Driving down hwy 70 in atlanta, GA area and front frame on truck kenworth 2005 split in half by front wheel. While in motion. Need to report this and investigate this model. I have talk to other drivers who had same thing happen on same truck model as well.

Electrical problems resulting from burned washer fluid heater.

Recalls on numerous gm vehicles for catching fire: the vehicle was setting in driveway for over 7 hours and neighbors were awaken by loud explosion and looked out and saw flames under the hood. They woke myself and my daughter up out of deep sleep and car was engulfed in flames. From front bumper to back cargo area total loss. Fire department came but couldn't salvage the car. The garage door, garage entry door and downstairs basement were damaged ad possible replacement on them. There has never been any signs of over heating, or smoking, and any type of burning smells.

Interior dash split down the middle and across completely, breaks and falls down underneath.

I was driving and the engine light the traction light and the tire monitor system light lit up then the sign said engine power reduce and then the car engine started shaking really bad.

Door handles are peeling and caused my child to get a cut and bleed, lights on inside of the truck keep turning on and off seem spoke electrical shortage.

The chrome on the interior door handle is peeling, is very sharp and caused cuts on fingers when the door was opened. The cuts led to continued bleeding.

Takata complaint dash broke above steering wheel and passenger airbag.

Stopped at an intersection and my sunroof unexplainably exploded. There were no missiles,objects or debris that caused the sunroof to shatter. It was extremely loud and the sunroof shattered and held together by the film.

Driver side exterior door handle pulled off as I was opening the car door.

I was driving in the snow going 5mph and the tires began to spin. The car was in automatic for 4 wheel drive but did not kick into 4 wheel drive so I slid off the road. I was off road on a slight incline and the car wouldnt go into 4 wheel drive. It said service 4 wheel drive and the knob will turn but the 4 wheel drive will not activate. Nothing happened other than the car not going to 4 wheel drive when the knob has been turned.

Dash has split straight through where the passenger side airbag is installed.

Vehicle electrical system repeatedly shuts off while driving. Loss of critical components that are required to control vehicle. No warning whatsoever. . .

The dashboard on my 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe has fractures over the passenger front airbag as well as above the instrument cluster. The fractures are emitting a loud rattle from within the dashboard preventing adequate concentration while driving. The fear of a collision resulting in the deployment of the front passenger side airbag is one thing but I also fear that the fractures in the dashboard shows the structural integrity of the dashboard has failed and presents a strong and valid possibly of said fractures splintering off and becoming shrapnel in a collision causing serious injury. From my understanding this is a widely known and documented issue with the Chevrolet Tahoe. I am requesting a formal investigation into the failed integrity of the dashboard on the Chevrolet Tahoe, years 2007-2013.

While driving on I-75 in florida coming from kentucky (relocating my mother in law), I and a friend who was taking a turn driving smelled an odor similar to sulfur or natural gas. Within 10-15 minutes, smoke started coming out of the front driver engine compartment. Driver immediately pulled to the emergency lane as a fireball exploded from the same area as the smoke. We both dove out of the vehicle on the passenger side. The entire vehicle with nearly all the contents burned, all the way down to the tires.

I just bought this 07 chevy Tahoe before 3 months ago, the problems start one by one, when the weather start hot the dashboard broken, dic light dead and rnd123 light too, now the gm dealer want more than a $500 to fix the cluster, I checked online and I found thousands of gm owners they have same problem, why gm don't do a recall on the message center light and the dashboard.

The r/f door handle caused a laceration to the passenger's hand. An inspection of the door handle revealed that the chrome plating is peeling at the mold seem, resulting in a razor sharp edge along the entire top of the handle. Inspection of the other door handles revealed similar peeling that can cut anyone who comes in contact with the peeling metal plating.

Ignition switch turns off while driving and car is moving over bumps on the road.

My interior drivers side door handle has chrome peeling off and it sliced my finger while closing door. I have read that this has happened to lots of other people and wanted to report it. Terrible design.

When you engage the rear auto lift gate (ltz) the door goes 3/4 the way up and then begins to close on you literally traping you between the door and the rear opening. At first it would happen ever so often, now I must push the button again to stop the door from closing. This is a danger especially to children.

2 exterior door handles have came off multiply times even after bring to dealer came off again a year later. Interior door handles are chipping for my 2007 Chevrolet ltz Tahoe.

My daughter who is six years was attempting to open the rear passenger side door when the handle came off the body of the car.

Exterior door handles keep breaking. No recall. Local dealers say this is very common with this model and similar vehicles. Gm told me to make a complaint here in addition to them.

I own a 07 chevy Tahoe lt & have had problems with the stabilitrac system since I bought it under warranty from the chevy dealer. Originally all my car did was turn off the stabiltrac and say service stabilitac then it started to turn it self into saftey mode where it reduces engine power &won't let you basically drive,then it started locking the doors by itself I have taken it in several times only to have the dealerships garage tell me its a different issue every time, everything from the bearings to a tiny cord. Well my car has continued to randomly put itself in saftey mode for no reason&a few weeks ago I was driving on the freeway in the fast lane going the 65mph speed limit when it suddenly said engine power reduced service stabiltrac again & suddenly dropped my rate of speed to 15 miles to per hour without any pre warning. I barely made it to the next lane and then the shoulder and came so close to getting into a major accident I was so shaken. I let my car sit for a minute&like it always does it went right back to being fine. I took it back to the chevy dealer who said there was nothing wrong with it (after a $200 bill to look at it) the next day it did it again this time on a highway where the speed limit was 55 mph. I was so shaken up with my little guys in the car that I contacted the chevy corp who at first said they were aware there was a problem with some 08 & newer Tahoes like this then when I asked them to fix mine they recanted their story saying they never heard of this problem. I decided to research it myself and have found hundreds and hundreds of posts&forums of people saying the exact same thing. Which is why I am contacting you, if this is happening in many chevy/GMC cars w/stabilitrac this is soooo dangerous. To have your car suddenly reduce power to 10-15 miles per hour (with no brake lights or warnings to people behind you) is extremely dangerous.

Yes I am writing to say that we have a 2007 chevy Tahoe ltz and the door handles are falling off. I am not understanding why they are coming off like this. I don't have the money to keep putting out for the same problem. . I am thinking that a recall should be put forward towards this problem. Because I see that I am not the only one with problems. . . . Thanks in advance.

Chrome plating on interior door handles are peeling leaving sharp and jagged edges causing cuts on hand and fingers. Also, interior door panels' retaining clips are popping out causing panels to separate from the door.
