“service traction control” “service stabilitrack” abs light, air bag light, tire pressure sensors all went bad at same time.
Have owned the vehicle since new. For a long time I had been "topping off" the brake fluid in the master cylinder. Finally got a message on the dash telling me to "service brakes soon" that would come and go. Eventually made it to our local Chevrolet dealer while the message was displayed for diagnostic purposes. Was told code "c0299" was found regarding brake booster pressure sensor performance. Vehicle was repaired by replacing the master cylinder and hydraulic brake booster. A large amount of brake fluid was found inside the booster upon disassembly. Obviously had been leaking brake fluid from the master cylinder into the brake booster for a long time. Saw that Ford had a recent recall for a similar problem and I thought it was worth reporting. I retained both the master cylinder and brake booster for inspection if needed. Fortunately no incidents occurred due to this part failure before replacement.
I was driving and the engine light the traction light and the tire monitor system light lit up then the sign said engine power reduce and then the car engine started shaking really bad.
Stabilitrack light comes on and truck operates brakes and steering without my input. Engine has loss of power and runs rough.
Peeling interior paint - two of the four doorhandles paint is peeling causing sharp and jagged edges resulting in cut fingers. Brakes - all brakes and rotors bad at 39,000 miles and had to be replaced. Way too early! now the brakes squeel all the time, are soft and had to be flushed 2 times within 6 months of each other. Windows - continuing issues with the windows screetching when going up and down. Attempted to fix three times and just keeps repeating. Is starting to scuff/scratch the glass and leave oil streaks. Was told this is normal. Rear liftgate (manual) - struts freeze every winter so that the tailgate does not go up all the way. Have hit head on this numerous times. Been replaced 3 times and counting.
