Accelerator Pedal Sensor problems of the 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe

Tl the contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe. While driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle independently decelerated. The stabilitrak and engine power reduced warning indicators illuminated. A local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the accelerator pedal position sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was approximately 78,573. The VIN was not available.

On Tuesday, August 9, 2011, as I moved over to pass a car on the left on a 2-lane highway, the accelerator in my 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe began accelerating at a very fast rate on its own and "stuck" . I hit the brakes several times, but it did not "unstick" and kept accelerating. I am not certain to what exact speed the car reached during this time, but I believe it was in excess of 80 mph.
