The vehicle randomly loses or gains power while driving. All of the auto locks go up and down, while the cluster goes in and out with very high rpms and then completely loses power in the middle of the road. Or this happens and the steering gets very tough. It is very dangerous because there are times where it happens on the highway while doing up to 80mph. It also happens when sitting at line to pick up my child in pre-k. If it were to jump and the brakes weren’t hit fast enough it could really cause a horrible and possibly deadly situation. I have done everything that I can on my end with this truck. I recently replaced the battery and replaced the master fuse since reading it was the cause. That lasted for a week. I have read hundreds of owners with the same problems that have went to private owned mechanic shops along with gm certified mechanic shops. They have yet to find an answer to this possibly deadly malfunction. There are posts and websites all over sharing other owners with the same problems and all of their stories end the same. That gm along with any mechanic used has yet to find any results to this. I noticed that the 2015 model has a recall for this problem but doesn’t describe what is being done to fix the actual problem. It has the same engine and setup as far as I can see so I wonder why there isn’t a recall for the 2010. I have two school age children that have to be brought to and picked up from school daily. If you look up this problem online you will find endless stories and questions about the issue at hand. Most people end up spending thousands of dollars trying to fix the problem on new batteries, cables, starters, etc. However, they all end up with the problem being unresolved with all of that unnecessary debt. This is a very serious manner and I feel that it’s only a matter of time before lives are lost over this. I thank you for the opportunity to be heard and pray that a resolution comes sooner than later.
1. I came out to go to work and the dash board had cracked and it is progressively getting worse. The crack is above the speedometer and on the passenger side near the air bag. 2. Water is leaking in the passenger head board causing water to leak in the seat belt and wet it.
While driving in town or highway , door locks began popping up and down, dash gauges were going crazy and car began to be lose total electrical power. Engine cut out and died and almost rear ended by semi-truck. This issue has happened 20 plus times over the past 6 months and several times times this week driving in town and also on interstate 44 in missouri. The gm service technician does not know what the problem is or the cause. This issue is happening country wide to owners of chevy Tahoe's. This vehicle is now to dangerous to drive. My Tahoe has 71,212 miles on it. Can you please look into this issue?.
The car has stalled on the freeway and/or busy roads multiple times. It was very dangerous timing.
Xm radio, antenna, the wire from the roof mount to the radio box, behind the glove box, got rusted and shorted out the radio. I took it to driver's village, in cicero new york, 13039, they said it would cost me $600. 00 to put in a new antenna, so I went out to best buy and got them to install a new radio. .
Tahoe dash is cracking on the corner of the passenger airbag. A very dangerous spot for a jagged edge to be next to an airbag.
Engine light, alb, and service traction control light came on the dash, message loosing engine power as well, driving conditions were very dangerous, truck kept jerky as I was driving it, could only go up to max of 15 mph, the truck is not safe to drive.
Dashboard is cracked clearly defective leaving wires exposed to temp differences that can cause exposure to moisture on electrical wires, circuits inside dash that worries me of electric fires gm wont replace dash at 100% cost and their are clearly issues regarding their dashboards all over the us but gm will not address this. .
We purchased a new 2010 chevy Tahoe with a trailer package. When we plugged the trailer plug in, we found that the no electricity was transmitted to the trailer lights and brakes. When we brought to vehicle to a chevy dealer, they informed us that the wires were not connected at the fuse box. We believe this is safety problem and a manufacturing defect. Even worse the dealer claimed that this safety defect was not covered by the warranty because we did not ask for the wires to be connected to the fuse box when we bought the car. We were shocked at this convoluted argument. The manual indicated that we just and to plug the trailer wires into the Tahoe plug. We are concerned that this manufacturing defect could lead to safety problem if someone just plugged their trailer wires in and later found themselves without trailer lights or brakes.
