The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe. While driving low speeds, the contact heard an abnormal popping noise. The failure occurred without warning. The vehicle was taken to hertrich Chevrolet Buick GMC (7677 ocean gateway, easton, MD) where it was diagnosed that the upper ball joints were faulty and the upper control arms needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was returned to the dealer and the failure was confirmed. The vehicle's alignment was adjusted; however, the failure recurred. The failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and referred the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was 47,948.
