Its seems that the abs computer stopped working and the break and traction control assist also.

I have a 2016 chevy Tahoe ltz. It has the air ride suspension. I need all new shocks and struts and a new air ride air suspension pump. Reported this issue when the vehicle had 60-66k miles on it. I was never told what was wrong until about 2 weeks ago. The grand total of replacing these issues is over 6k. I called chevy/GMC theres nothing they will do as it’s out of any warranty even though the problem has been reported/documented way before it hit 84k. Jim shorkey chevy is a joke and boby rahal has no clue what warranty they’re selling people. This makes for a very loud, very rough ride that’s hard to control going any speed. There was also a valve that would squeak when it went from the v4 to the v8. In order to fix that I needed a whole new exhaust and muffler. Chevy would not cover any of this even though there is warranty for emissions through chevy I can’t remember the year but I know the miles were 90k. I don’t have that on the car and for whatever reason an exhaust and muffler are not considered emissions even though if there was a hole or malfunction with them I wouldn’t pass the emissions here in PA. Make that make sense. All of these problem were reported within the year of buying this car back in 2020. I didn’t get a diagnosis for these problems until 2023 and 30k miles later. I did and still do have issues with the brake even though the vacuum pump was replaced back when I bought it. My antenna also leaked and I had to pay for that out of pocket. I’d love to stay with a GMC/chevy but if I’m going to constantly have to pour money into it I’ll never go back.

In several instances the 2016 Tahoe ltz will not stop if you are going slow like in a drive thru or picking up kids from school I have had the Tahoe in for the reprogramming of the vacuum pump but it still does it noticed it the other day when backing the boat in the water I have had it to the dealership a couple of times I have had the back brake calibers replaced at my own expense I have contacted the dealership a few times to tell them that the recall they said they fixed is still not fixed they said they did what the recall called for I am just letting you know that I do not think the reprogramming works it is still an issue I am for certain this is not the fix for the 2016 chevy Tahoe brake vacuum pump problem.

On two separate occasions I have lost control of the vehicle. The first time I was turning and thought maybe I hit a slick spot on the road but the same thing did not happen to other cars. The second time I was driving straight on a secondary road and out of nowhere the car started sliding like it was on ice but the brakes and steering were non functional. I could turn the wheel and press the brakes but nothing happened. There was no indication that there were any issues with the car, no alarms or messages came up before, during, or after the incidents. I was very lucky in both instances in that there were no oncoming cars. This has been extremely terrifying and I refuse to drive the car anymore. Heaven forbid my children or anyone else had been in the car.

I have an issue with my Tahoe and I noticed some other vehicles have the same issue but mine doesn't have that recall. I been seeing service brake assist on my display, and with that I have problems stopping my vehicle at a slow speed. It usually happens when I'm backing up out of my garage, or trying to park at a parking space. I have to press down on the pedal hard to stop, at one time I had to pur it in neutral cause I couldn't stop. I'm afraid one of these days it won't stop and I will cause an accident or damages cause of this issue. Like I said I don't understand why other vehicles with the same issue have recall, I researched and it seems that from 2015 to 2017 they have recalls. I would like to get this issue fixed.

Just recently got my brakes re-programmed and immediately they continued not to function correctly. The warning lights don't come on but they still do not stop in time. In a parking lot I could not stop and hit a sign in front of the parking space. Will Chevrolet fix the damage caused by my car. Also noted in a drive-through cannot get stopped in time when trying to follow cars. And it backing down a hill at slower speeds car will not stop. Brakes just shake when you try to push them. Thinking of getting an attorney because I need someone to fix my car now.

Hello my Tahoe was in a Chevrolet dealer on October 25 because of a brake recall, the truck was �fixed� that same day. The only thing is that my truck won't start anymore since then. I had my truck parked in a garage since the day we got home from the dealer and today 11/13/19 when I get to turn it on it just won't start. Also my husband had a car accident due to the brakes not working in April of this year before we knew the truck was on recall. He was in a city street and he tried to brake because the car in front of his was making a stop the brakes just didn't work, he tried to avoid the car by turning to his left but the front side our truck hit the back of the car. At low speed (gridlock traffic), brake pedal became very difficult to press and would not fully stop the vehicle.

After vehicle has been parked, when put in reverse trying to back out of a parking space the brakes do not activate and barely can get the vehicle stopped. . It has happened multiple times. Feel like I can't get the vehicle stopped even pressing or pumping the beakes!! it's a matter of time before I hit something. Very scary! when I shift it into drive to go forward they work just fine.

Brake pedal became extremely hard to push first instance was slowing to make a right hand turn after nearly crashing got vehicle stopped after sitting for a while brakes returned to normal operation. Second instance backing into parking space petel went to floor no brakes then petal came up and was extremely hard to press down hitting another vehicle in the process. After a period of time brakes went back to normal operation.

Truck mileage is 48k. Drove about 8 miles to restaurant for dinner and all was normal. Came out of restaurant and started truck in parking garage and steering wheel wouldn't budge without great effort and then only in half inch increments. Took a cab home and and had truck towed to sport Chevrolet for service. Brakes required replacement of the vacuum pump under warranty. The steering rack had to be replaced for $2880 not under warranty. Issue is sudden total steering rack failure with no graceful degradation. If it had happen at highway speed I wouldn't be here to report the failure.

Brakes felt like they were slipping and the vehicle would continue to roll for a minimum of 5 feet. "service brake assist" message was shown and the brake module was replaced. Vehicle was in motion 24 hours after replacing module on a major highway and "service brake assist" appeared on the dash. Brake pedal was hard and braking system was completely inoperable.

I was driving a 2016 chevy Tahoe on a residential street. My car lost all control of steering and brakes. While driving the car veered to the right and hit a car, continued on hitting 2 more parked cars, drove thru someone's large hedges, and was seconds away from driving into someone's house but was stopped when I hit the 2 parked cars in the driveway. I have experienced "hard braking" of my vehicle. While traveling at very slow speeds, when I brake - the brake pedal does not go down in its normal fashion. Engine has been making a clicking sound for the last year. We took it in and they were unable to pinpoint the problem. Took it to mechanic, put on machine and now said it's a vac. Pump issue. I've had many Tahoe and this one is making me want to get away from chevy.

At slow speeds the vehicle does not brake. To get the vehicle to stop you have to tap them repeatedly very hard for it to acknowledge that you are braking.

When driving at low speeds, both turning and driving straight, the brake pedal becomes so firm that it cannot be depressed. I am unable to stop the vehicle without pumping the brakes. The dealership is charging $700 to replace the vacuum pump and is familiar with the issue.

Brakes got hard when driving onto expressway Tahoe has only 42000 miles and heard theres been alot of issues with the vacuum pump what I have read. There needs to be a recall.
