Air bag lights it’s on, I’m already went to a shop and they put the scanner and said that there’s no air bag and transmission go out with 78xxx miles.
Front passenger air bag warning light lit up during road trip to nm. (1400 miles) warning bell sounded. We were very concerned airbag would explode at any minute. This was second time airbag light went off. First time was a loose sensor over drivers head. This time we repaired airbag in passenger seat at cost of $1800!. Now light is on again! this must be defective and needs a recall.
The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while stopped at a stop light, another vehicle crashed into the rear of the contacts vehicle. As a result, the contact’s vehicle shifted forward into another lane. The contact stated that the cabin filled with smoke as she had to abruptly exit the vehicle. The contact sustained injury to the right knee, back, neck and her right arm that required medical attention. A police report was filed, and the contact was informed that the air bag partially deployed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot then towed to the insurance company tow lot. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle had not yet been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacture was notified of the failure and the contact was provided a case number. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
Severe burns to arms , hands, forearms, wrists upon airbag deployment . The vehicle was traveling stright on a 2 lane hiway when another vehicle crossed over into the oncoming lane and struck the Tahoe.
Why is NHTSA allowing sale of millions of dangerous unfixable airbag recalled suvs to be driven when the consequence is death by an allowed life threatening problem in a majority of cars on the road. Why is there no protection of innocent people here. This is unacceptable regardless of what is or isn't allowed. Every car with this recall is a deadly risk and NHTSA is not getting dealers to stop selling such vehicles nor are they investigating the many dealerships that are hiding the issues by saying multiple different lies in the description and hiding it in the carfax but keeping it in the VIN check. Nhtsa has a duty to protect us all especuu iti ally now I'm thus rare instance where every vehicle on the road is a death sentence by the very safety device meant to protect , the airbags, which is one thing if does not inflate, but is worse that it shoots metal shrapnel when airbag explodes instead of inflated and has already injured and killed 19 people and no way to prevent explosion since no remedy but at the very least, is it not better to deactivate the possibility of it exploding instead of allowing it to be sold and harm people? this is very serious and should be investigated by all branches of government t related to vehicles dmv, dot, health and safety and fbi, because it is shocking that it has gotten thus far along without any protection except it's announcement thus far putting millions at risk. I think someone is getting paid off under the rug for it to be such a hidden dilemma. Please send this article of concern out to all investigative entities to get our kids and families protected. Takata recall - I am still driving my chevy Tahoe with this issue with gm still saying no remedy is available? can I demand where I purchased my car from to change the faulty air bags or to repurchase at fmv?.

Takata recall: I first received notice of the recall in July 2016. As of today, November 21, 2017 when I spoke with the dealer, there is still not a plan to rectify the situation / replace the faulty airbag. Takata has now filed bankruptcy. They've had at least 18 months to work on a remedy but as of yet there is none. I doubt there will be. . .

The contact stated that the manufactuer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recallreapir. The webb Chevrolet dealer location rt 30 plainville IL 815-261-0121 was contacted that the parts were no avialable for the recall remedy.
