When driving or sitting in a parked position the electrical system goes crazy. Radio, dash controls, bells, lights, unlock/lock all start going on and off randomly. While driving the car will actually die out and stall while the electrical system is going crazy. The electrical system then locked either my abs or 4wd on the back wheels causing the car to drive slowly then when I finally could pull over my car was smoking from under the entire car like it was going to catch on fire. This is completely unsafe. I was driving up a main highway when my truck started failing in the middle of traffic causing me to put the car in neutral and coast to the side. I then tried to start the truck again and it would not start at all. After turning everything on and off, moving the steering wheel it finally started again. Whatever electrical part or parts that run the entire car clearly have a major fault in them. This issue is clearly documented on videos and blogs from people who are having this problem for years. Search how to fix chevy electrical problems and you will see. This is not acceptable for so many years without gm having to fix this problem at some point. If you are not a mechanic and take your car in they are charging thousands of dollars to try to search for the problem. It seems to be the ground wires running from the battery on most vehicles or the fuse. This is a simple fix if you are a mechanic but taking it in to the shop they charge outrageous prices. This is also the second time this has happened. The first time this happened my door locks were being replaced and when they gave the car back to me I immediately had to turn around and go back. They replaced the battery and alternator at that time and it has worked fine until now.

Tl- the contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph, the vehicle stalled after depressing the brake pedal. After the failure occurred, the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle could be operated after the failure using the vehicle manual control feature. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the entire electronic brake control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate vehicle failure mileage was approximately 142,000. Djr.
When pushing the brake pedal the vehicle started to shake/vibrate as if the abs was activated when I got to work, and even when place the vehicle in to park and pushed the brake pedal the same vibration happened. I rushed to the dealership had to drive on hwy to get there kept at min speeds as possible and not using brakes at all. While approaching an exit ramp, I applied my brakes they locked up ( it really scared me) then the abs vibrating came back again. As I was approaching my house and hit the brakes again found I had none had to use emergency foot brake to stop. After over night on my driveway attempted to take the vehicle to the dealer and the brakes started to work kind of with the same abs vibration problem. Dropped it of at the dealer at valley Buick GMC on sat 06/28/14, on Monday the dealer tells me its a bpmv brake pressure modular valve needs to be replaced and that it will take 3-4 weeks to get the parts. 1st of all it was scary enough to lose the brakes and now 2 weeks later renting a car out of my own pocket $600 out and now going onto 3rd week another $250 expenses, as of today 7/14/14 dealer part says they have no idea when the part will be shipped. Called gm customer service and they say there is no recall on this issue (they have to wait till enough people die or get hurt), so they transfer me to the dealer that has my vehicle with no idea when the part will come. I love the hybrid tahoe but this is how gm take care of their customers I don't think I will be buying a new tahoe.
While approaching an intersection with vehicles approaching from several directions, I applied my brakes but found I had none. Fortunately, the other cars noted my situation and stopped for me. There was a gm dealer one block away, so I slowly drove there. I turned off the ignition. I re-started the vehicle and found I had brakes again. I slowly drove to village Chevrolet which was not far away. I was told the ebcm and bpmv were not builing pressure for the booster. They serviced and reprogrammed and delivered the vehicle the next day. On January 14, 2013, while driving I noted that again I did not have brakes. Fortunately, I was in a low traffic volume situation and I was able to slow to a stop. Again, village Chevrolet was not far away so I took the vehicle in for service. The bpmv and the tansmission auxiliary fluid pump were replaced at a cost of $2,700. It is of concern that new brake design and technology is such that one cannot gain functional brake repair at a reasonable cost. This was my sixth tahoe from village Chevrolet but it is my last gm purchase. I understand the vehicle is out of warranty, but village Chevrolet says they have not have any similar problems. If that is the case, why would the company not stand behind new models with new technology for a basic need such as brakes. What if I had been driving on the freeway at 70 mph? now, while braking, I note a difference in pedal pressure during the braking process. I am going to have the vehicle checked at a different dealer. Brakes are not just important, they are essential!! while the financial circumstances are disappointing, my main concern is the brake safety issue.
I have never had any issues other than the recalls with my tahoe. I pulled into a parking space at my bank. As I got into the space. The brakes went to the floor and I put both feet on the brake pedal at this point. The rpms went up. It was like the engine came to life by itself. It self accelerated over the concrete spacer and sidwalk into the bank's brick wall. The airbag deployed upon impact. There was never a time it decelerated. There was no one in the car but me thankfully. There were no warning lights. There were no bells warning of the failure. I would estimate it took 2-3 seconds to go from almost stopped in a parking space to hitting the brick. I am so shaken by this incident and I have no idea what to do. GMC has been informed.
We had a 2009 Tahoe Hybrid for only 4 months. On several occassions beginning in March when driving at a low speed or coasting down hill, 'check brake' lights came on. I tried to slow by pressing on the brake pedal and the brakes went to the floor and the car would not stop. I had to coast to a parking lot, put the car in neutral/park and re-start the car. The car stalled while coming down hill - very dangerous. We took it back to the dealership. They charged the battery. The very next morning backing out of the garage, again brake pedal went to the floor and had to re-start.
