One problem related to tailgate latch has been reported for the 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Rear hatch (tailgate) window will release while driving without warning. This has happened on numerous occasions. When this occurs, all the interior lights come on, which can be quite dangerous at night. In addition, items can fall out of the unsecured rear hatch (tailgate) window. I have tried lubricating the mechanism, as well as checking regularly that it is secured, but there has been no improvement.
