We own a 2003 chevy Trailblazer ext. Our vehicle has 58k miles. We noticed this year, our vehicle has been burning excessive amounts of oil. A couple of examples are during a 600 mile trip our oil consumption was 5 quarts of oil. We have regular oil changes every 3,000 miles. Another example recently includes 2,000 miles after an oil change was completed we had to add 2 1/2 quarts of oil. We are receiving black smoke from the expired in 2006.
