The contact owns a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact was driving approximately 5 mph and engaged the front driver side automatic seat positioning mechanism. Suddenly the left side of the seat activated to a higher level and the right side failed to respond. The contact discovered that the welding on the right side of the seat detached which resulted to the failure. The dealer was notified and they inform that there was not a recall related to the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 140,580.
Drivers seat will move to the "exit posistion" while driving. The last time this happened the driver was pulled away from the brake pedal while making a right hand turn and drove off the road. The vehicle has been taken to the dealership several time for repair with no luck.
