2 Vehicle Speed Control problem

When driving for 30 to 45 mins all the instruments on dash start sticking and reading wrong information. In the picture my car is parked .

3 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 09/04/2017

Multiple gauges on the instrument panel are malfunctioning. The tachometer is reading 5,000 rpm when the vehicle was in park, and 7,000 rpm when going 15 mph. When I turn the car off the gauge sits at 2,000. The speedometer is clicking up (not a smooth transition to the correct speed). And it showing a lesser speed then I am going. When I turn the car off the speedometer shows it is going 10 miles per hour but will slowly drop down to zero. Both of these malfunctions could are a huge safety concern. I had to pull over on the highway while the instrument panel was showing 7,000 rpm, afraid I was going to break down and ruin my car.

4 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 01/05/2015

The problem happens when coming to a stop the engine will surge or jump as much as 2000 rpm's and you really have to be on the brake to hold it. Go to neutral let it rev then it will come back to normal. The last time was on a snow packed intersection with two other vehicles in opposite directions. The bad thing is you don't know when it's going to do it. Had it to several garages and nobody can duplicate it and it shows no codes.

5 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2014

The instrument cluster on the 2003 Trailblazer malfunctions, causes the speedometer to stop working and you can't tell how fast your going. The malfunctions also occur with the temperature, oil, and gas gauge. Very dangerous not knowing how fast your going. The vehicle needs to be recalled.

6 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 09/02/2013

I have a 2003 Trailblazer that has a speedometer that does not work correctly, on the highway the speeds vary and sometimes show that it is going 0 miles for hours other times it will show different speeds such as 35 or 45 while driving at the same speed of traffic which is 70 mph. The oil pressure gauge is stuck beyond the highest lever and at intermittent times the tachometer does not work. There is also an issue with the heating and cooling fan where the fan will not blow at all and you have to shut the car down and restart it to get the fan to blow at all. The ac and heat are also not changing in temperature at all. I have read many complaints about the speedometer and instrument cluster and find it ridiculous that there has not been a recall put forth on this, especially to ensure motorists are traveling at the correct speeds ensuring the safety for all and that gm has not offered any type of recall for the Trailblazer but has on different models with the same problem in the same model years.

7 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 09/12/2012

Tl - the contact owns a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated that while driving approximately 15 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact merged to the shoulder and restarted the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact that the vehicle was not included in any recalls. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000 and the current failure mileage was 152,265. Kmj.

9 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 09/05/2011

I was driving to work when all of a sudden I realize that my speed odometer wasn't working and I had to push the brakes because it felt that I was going to fast and the speed limit was 35 however my speed odometer was stuck on 10mph. . . . But it was probably going at about 55 mph. . .

11 Vehicle Speed Control problem

13 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 11/16/2010

My 2003 Trailblazer has a speedometer and tachometer that quit working most of the time. I contacted a gm dealer and was informed it would cost about $500 to repair. My cars inspections runs out soon and cant be inspected till this issue is repaired.

14 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 06/13/2010

For the past 6 months my 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer speedometer has intermittently worked properly. 90% of the time it is reading a false speed. I never know how fast or slow I am traveling. This is a very dangerous problem that gm should at least acknowledge and recall.

15 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 03/20/2010

Speedometer quit working, reads very incorrectly. I am being told by the dealership that its a cluster piece and the price is $600. 00. I contacted gm they will offer no assistance. After researching this on the internet this seems to be a common problem that should be covered under a recall.

16 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2009

The instrument cluster (gauges) on my vehicle are going out 1 by 1. It started with the rpm's a couple of years ago. I had it looked at by a chevy dealer and was told that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle and that the gauge was just out. It could be repaired but it wasn't necessary if it isn't causing any problems. Shortly after another went out it was the oil. At this point only 2 are still working and I know they will go out as well and, those two are the speedometer and the fuel. I do know of other chevy Trailblazer owners that their speedometer has went out and that is a huge safety issue. Chevy has done a recall on other SUV's for this same problem but, will not do a recall on the Trailblazer. I would just like for this information to be noted so that eventually chevy will take responsibility for this issue.

17 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 08/29/2008

I am a senior citizen I brought this car new. After one year I had to replace linc plate. Over the years everything has gone wrong with this car. Speedometer has not worked since Aug. '08, gas gauge stopped oct. '11. Instrument cluster since 2010 and gm knows this is a defected part. Yet gm paid for this same defected part at their cost for the tahoe, but has not paid for the Trailblazer. Why? windows and doors do not unlock on command. Window wiper(rear) stopped working-I replaced that part. A/c comes on my itself. Thermostat failure. I think gm should stand behind their product. The only reason they would not is that they already know that they are producing substandard products that are not fit to be driven on the road.

18 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 11/09/2007

The speedometer in my 2003 Trailblazer started becoming very inaccurate and would not properly show how fast I was going. It would either stick on a number or randomly max out at 120+ mph, even when just parked. Took it to the dealer today and the cost to fix is a shade under $500. The problem is the cluster, which is a very common problem apparently.

19 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2006

: the contact stated the speedometer became inoperable, and needed to be replaced. The service dealer determined the vehicle had to be shipped out of state to have the speedometer replaced.

20 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 12/08/2005

While driving, my speedometer stopped working completely. I have had it checked by both a gm dealer and an independent repair shop. I was told the entire "cluster" would have to be replaced. I was also told that there are many of these problems and that there is a 2-3 week delay in getting the part shipped. I was also told it would cost about $400 to get it fixed. My car is a 2003 and has about 81,000 miles on it. A speedometer is not like an alignment, wear and tear item, or neglect of having it serviced. It is obviously a safety concern because of speed, the inability to get the part in a timely manner and the unwillingness of gm to cover the repair.

21 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 09/03/2005

The contact stated odometer was intermittently inaccurate. The dealer and manufacturer have not been contacted. No repairs have been made.

22 Vehicle Speed Control problem

While driving, the consumer noticed that the speedometer was inoperative. The consumer could not tell how fast she was driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection. The cause has not been determined at this time. Please provide further details.

23 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 09/10/2004

While driving any speed speedometer would read the wrong mileage. Consumer would not know what speed they would be going. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.

24 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 01/23/2004

The throttle sensor malfunction. As a result the vehicle became inoperative. Please provide additional information.
