Tire Tread/belt problems of the 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Two problems related to tire tread/belt have been reported for the 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Tire Tread/belt problem

Failure Date: 08/08/2007

Continental tire p245/65r17 conti trac tr, tread separated during normal driving conditions damaging vehicle (2004 chevy Trailblazer) almost causing major accident. Contacted continental, they say its not their problem because tire "experienced impact damage" the tire was a rear drivers side tire, and there has been no impact of any kind.

2 Tire Tread/belt problem

Failure Date: 10/20/2004

2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer (fiance's), factory equipped with continental contitrac tires. At approximately 12,000 miles, we noticed a tread separation on right rear tire. (two different spots on tire). It is very obvious that the tread is peeling back on rest of tire also. As of this time, the dealer has refused to do anything about it. Ore recently, we found out that continental has a 12-15 week backorder, leading me to believe that they have halted production due to a known problem. ****actual tire ize:245/65/sr17**** site did not give that option.
