Power Steering Failed problems of the 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Two problems related to power steering failed have been reported for the 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Power Steering Failed problem

Failure Date: 11/23/2014

The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer ext 370. The contact stated that the driver was traveling approximately 65 mph, the power steering failed without warning. The vehicle was shaking violently making it extremely difficult for the contact to control the steering wheel. The contact stated that the driver lost control of the vehicle while it was swaying back and forth, the steering wheel locked. The vehicle crashed into a median and the vehicle rolled over more than twice. The driver sustained major injuries in which the index finger on the left hand had to be surgically adjusted and also the thumb was lacerated due to the impact of the crash. The contact was receiving further medical attention due to the severity of the crash. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was not available.

2 Power Steering Failed problem

Failure Date: 01/03/2011

Tl - the contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 mph, the power steering assist failed. The contact mentioned that the failure recurred several times. The contact also stated that the lift gate revel molding was fractured. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the power steering, power transmission and the rear deck molding needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000 and the current mileage was 166,324. The VIN was not available. Kmj.
