Brakes failed for no apparent reason around 8:00 am that morning. My friend and I was driving to my home in his 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer after many stops that morning. We was on the interstate doing 65 mph. I noticed the traffic ahead approaching and I said "cars" indicating to my friend to slow down. He said "I have no brakes!" we narrowly missed the first cars and while readjusting we came into contact with the driver side of three vehicles rolling us on our side! I broke both my arms escaping thankfully with my life. We had no idea what suddenly and unexpectedly lost brakes. Weeks afterwards I started reading about the stabilitrac and steering sensor on the 1 of many Chevrolet vehicle defect issues. Around that year and I believe was the problem. I have been out of work and tried to explain this to people with no reply. I read an article about Chevrolet told about the issue and refused a recall. Senator blumenthal requested an investigation but I haven't seen anything after a judge requested a Chevrolet ceo deposed. If this vehicle has these dangerous problems please know that it almost killed my friend and I. Https://gmauthority. The anti lock brakes engaging with no seasonal weather.
Both rear break lights failed simultaneously, even after fuses were checked both under the hood and behind the drivers side fuse box (fuse #12 & fuse #34). This is a road hazard and faulty wiring should be covered. Front left headlight was found to have switch with melted wiring as well, changes by mechanic and I was informed it could have caused a fire. This vehicle has 3 recalls thus far that are extremely dangerous if such faults can cause a fire within the electrical wirings. I would like to get compensated for the work done, the break lights faulty wiring should be covered under the recall as the local chevy dealer refuses to fix it.
My wife, daughter and myself were driving on idaho state highway 70, a narrow, winding, two-lane road with little to no shoulder, when the motor stopped and ilost all power-brakes, steering etc. I was fortunately able to steer the car over to a wide spot on the shoulder and stop. I was unable to re-start the blazer and called aaa to have it hauled to knudtsen Chevrolet in coeur d'alene, idaho. In another half hour we would have been driving 70 mph on interstate and the outcome could have been disasterous if the car had failed then in high volume traffic. The next day I was advised by knudtsen that the ignition switch was the problem. I wrote a follow-up letter to the owner and the service manager called a few days later indicating that since my warranty had expired neither gm nor knudtsen could help me with the $268 charge for replacing the switch. Since then I have been told gm and knudtsen would split the cost three ways since I was a long-time customer (three blazers). I have not yet received any reimbursement as of this date. Is this possibly another car which should be on the recall list?.
When I was driving downhill on curvy road, I applied the brakes during a turn and the power steering had activated my anti-lock brakes. It kept happening on every turn and when I took my car to a shop they had to replace a steering angle sensor.
Stabilitrak/abs engaging randomly while driving at regular and highway speeds!!!! while driving on the highway at 60mph stabilitrak light comes on, vehicle reduces speed,I can not accelerate, loud grinding sound from front end, vibration felt from brake pedal when I tried to depress the brakes. I had to pull over turn the vehicle off and restart. Very dangerous and scary situation semi was behind me and had to swerve to the other lane to avoid hitting me!!!!.
The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated that the stability light illuminated on the instrument panel and the brakes unexpectedly engaged. The contact was traveling 60 mph when the failure occurred and the vehicle decelerated to 30 mph before the brakes released. The failure occurred on more than one occasion. The contact stated that the dealer replaced the yaw sensor, but that did not correct the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 82,000. The VIN was unavailable.
While drivibg down the road the headlights will start flickering the tracting control lights will come on it the dash and all of the buttons on the drivers door will stop working and the rear heater will only work when it wants too the power light on the rear heater will not even come on then your driving along and it will light up and start working the only way to get the buttons on the door to work again and the lights in the dash to go off is to pull over and shut the truck off and then restart it up again but you may be doing this again with in the hour if still driving and if you don't look for those lights on in the dash you could be in trouble cause if they stay on long enough you will go to stop and the brake paddle will go to the floor and you won't stop but if you quickly hit the brake again it stops the truck is extremely dangerous to drive anymore it scares me every time I get in it I think there should be a recall on these trucks from what I have seen online alot of people are having the same problems and if I hit someone because of this thing I will sue gm for making junk.
This has happened to me 4 times in the last year and a half first time at a red light it turned green I was the only car at the light when I hit the gas it felt like someone rear ended me look no one behind me then the rear brakes were locked up I drove it 1/4 of a mile and they unlocked them selves I drove to my dealer told them he looked it up said there was a service bulletin about that took my blazer in for a oil change an I supposed looked at the brakes then about 6 months later the same thing and it felt like some one rear ended me again but no one there behind me. . Then about a month ago in July the same thing at a red lite and I had 3 senior citizens in the blazer when they all thought some one ran into the rear of me but no one was behind me the rear brakes only stayed locked up maybe 300 yards and then released . . Then today at a stop sign 8-16-2012 same thing then all kind of noise going to the doctors office about 1/4 of a mile away got into the parking lot an the drive shaft fell out at the front of the trans here both bars trailing arms at the rear axle broke had to have it towed the Chevrolet dealership(greenwood) in austintown ohio I have 43000 miles on it and bought it new at greenwood Chevrolet.
When I am stopped at a stop light with my foot on the brake, my Trailblazer revs up and tries to accelerate. I have to push harder on the brake to keep it from moving.
