Three problems related to steering rack and pinion have been reported for the 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While driving the wheel jerked to left. I crossing lake bridge. . I wonder what was that. Then it was like I had 2 flat tires on front. . I slowed down. Just to get across bridge to pull over. . It started driving normal. So it wasn't tires. Then started again. So got it back home. Thinking it ti rods sway bar, etc. Got all new front end parts. Now steering wheel justs spins. Now told rack and pinion. My car been sitting for 2 months trying figure out what could be issue.
The driver side door electrical panel malfunctions and the door does not open and the window does not go down and the window lock unlocks after being locked. The rack and pinion had to be replaced twice. The car turned off while driving. The light in the back will not work no matter how many times the bulb and rack has been replaced.
I have been having a recurring issue with the steering on my 2007 chevy Trailblazer. I have had 3 different occasions when the vehicle will only make left turns. Today specifically the vehicle was at an intersection and I was attempting to make a right turn when the vehicle responded by only wanting to turn to the left which was a set-up for a head on collision. The vehicle would turn to the left but would not go past the centered position. In order for the steering to correct itself, the vehicle would have to be turned off and considerable force placed on the steering wheel to turn the vehicle to the left, then the pressure force would free itself and the vehicle would work correctly. Gm has to know of this issue, this is a deadly "rack and pinion" in this. I almost killed a family today with a head on collision scenario. Please help, I have had this vehicle to the dealership before, only to be told, we can't duplicate this, something is not right!.
