My 2008 Trailblazer is having a rough idling issue. . When I first start my vehicle it does not want to keep running. It doesnt want to move either. It is the throttle position sensor and it cost 300. 00 to buy the part.
Leaving my place of employment, I made a left turn on to the road. While in the turn, my SUV began to stall. The engine malfunction indicator lamp came on. I managed to coast on to someone's property. I turned the engine off and sat there for approximately 15 minutes. Then, I restarted the engine and managed to get home. I used a scanner to get the code for the possible malfunction. The malfunction was listed as p2135, which read, in part "throttle/pedal position sensor/switch a/b voltage correlation". This same problem was cited in NHTSA: action number: 10047220 service bulletin number: 340852. , for the model year 2008. However, the dealership and gm, have stated that my vehicle is not covered. This is a great source of frustration. With the hundred of thousand of vehicles that has been recalled by gm for a multitude of defects, somehow the model year 2008, is a model of perfection. Fortunate for me, that I was not on the freeway when my vehicle began to loose power.
Repeated issue. Smell of smoke/burning triggers dash warning signals. Same dash warning signals come on without smell of smoke/burning. Cycle repeats itself without pattern, and includes during 4 wheel use. Vehicle taken to multiple Chevrolet dealerships for service (utah, north carolina and washington) with the dash warning lights on. Utah and nc claim unable to replicate event or identify problem, so listed as unknown without correction. GMC executive office interdiction resulted in replacement of stereo even though dash light indicate powertrain & electrical. Stereo broke 2 mos later. Gmeo and wa identified fuse issue related to 4 wheel drive, but unable to replicate smoke/burning before claiming issue resolved. Dash warning lights constantly come on and off indicating problem with powertrain/electrical. Gmeo closed case as resolved.
I bought this vehicle back in September 2009. Ever since I bought the vehicle I have had problems with the traction control lights coming on for no apparent reason. This happens when its hot and cold, dry or wet. Just starting the engine makes then come on. I have been back to the dealer for 2 years now for the same problem and they tell me that they don't know why it is happening and can't fix it. My vehicle is now out of warranty and will never be fixed. ?.
