The rear liftgate support arms failed. This is not a power actutated unit it is a manual unit and the rear lift gate will not stay up.
Tl- the contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving over a speed bump at approximately 40 mph, the liftgate opened without activation. In addition, the failure recurred constantly. The contact received a notification of NHTSA campaign number: 15v415000(structure) however, the recall part was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 72,000. Jo.
