Had a squeaking noise when applying brake pedal. Took it to a mechanic who said the the brake booster and master cylinder had to be replaced because it was leaking and causing the problem. Could eventually lead to braking issues. They also stating this was a common problem with the Chevrolet Traverse make and model. Should be a recall issue and not a $600 fix for me.
The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that the brake was depressed into the floorboard abnormally. The failure recurred intermittently and the vehicle was taken to the dealer who performed a diagnostic. The failure was located at the brake master cylinder and the anti-lock computer module. The dealer replaced the master cylinder and the antilock computer module, but the failure persisted. The failure mileage was 300 and the current mileage was 6,500.
