The airbag connector piece under the passenger seat comes apart triggering. Airbag light on. Dealer charges over $100 for a problem that keeps happening. This issue is also listed on every forum so t's a common issue. Wiper fluid doesn't extract clogged nozzles.
The srs light indicator on dash board continues to come on/off while driving the vehicle. Sometimes the srs light stays on for a while and then turns off.
One day just starting my car noticed service airbag light came on and never went off. My vehicle has not been in an accident where any airbags were deployed. I have also noticed Mini complaints online about the same problem. I also noticed a recall for my model for airbag issues but dealership says my VIN number was not included. My windshield wiper fluid will not disperse as well wiper arm hand was replaced lines were checked and fluid in the reservoir and still no fluid available which affects visibility when anything splashing on the windshield.
When I turn my air on and my speed limit hits 25 miles per hr my car shakes at a neighborhood street and it was really scary on the freeway cause I swerved to the right cause it was shaking so bad. Then when I let go of my gas for 5 seconds to stop the shaking it stalls and I have to push the gas pump at least 3 times to make it drive. It also smells like my gas is leaking and it is worse when I turn left or right. I'm afraid it might catch on fire. My headlights would go off for a couple of days sometimes for a week but would turn on all of a sudden and they are brand new headlights. My airbag light would go off and on every other week. Its just frustrating having this car cause there is always something different on the dash board saying something is wrong with the car.
Service air bag light is intermittent as an icon also in text of drivers display. I have only owned this car for four months and have had it to a gm service dealer twice. First trip costed $254. 15 for an impact sensor and diagnosis. Two days later lights one again this time tensioner kit was replaced. It's been about four weeks and the lights are back on again. It happens anytime, driving or being started, no rough terrain just cruising and lights will come on.
So basically like everyone else is stating all of the sudden when you are driving the light comes on and says traction control off/service strabila trac and the the check engine light comes on and you have reduced engine power. My mechanic has had me drive straight to him every time this happens because if I turn the car off the computer does not hold the codes. He was getting a reading of the ignition coils being bad. We have replaced all six ignition coils about two weeks ago. Today 06/04/18 it did it again. This has been going on for a while and nobody really seems to know what the problem is. I am seriously out of money to keep experimenting with repairs at this point. Gm really needs to step up and do a recall. Also these cars had an airbag recall and I took it in and was told they fixed that recall. My airbag light remains on and they tell me I have to replace the airbag at my cost! why? seriously loosing faith in gm products.
My airbag light went on and after 2 service call the dealer determine that I would need a new airbag installed.
I do not know if this is a takata problem because I was informed that takata went bankrupt. On November 1, 2017 I took my SUV into george nahas Chevrolet dealer due to my problem . I informed them that my airbag light went on and off. I thought it was an electrical problem because I can reach under my seat and move the wires and the light would go off. They charge me $199. 90 for a diag and later informed me that it was a poor connection. I drove the car and a few days later the light went on again. I took my car in again and I thought they fixed it this time but again a few days later the light went on again. Back again to nahas Chevrolet and this time after waiting hours they told me that I needed to replace the airbag and it will cost me $1,037. 90. I was not a happy camper. I decided not to pay $1,037. 90 because the car was a 2012. I asked the manager to refund my $199. 90 because after the first repair it wasn't fix and then after the second attempt I had the same problem. After the 3rd time I met with the service manager, my conversation with him was since nataka went bankrupt no other notifications would be given. In my opinion now chevy or the dealer now carries the responsibility to repair the airbag problem. I hope you understand my problem and agree with me that the dealer has to fix my problem.
"takata recall" went to start my car and the check airbag light went on. I took my car in 3 times and finally the dealer informed me that I needed a new airbag. Since there has been many recalls pertaining to airbags I informed the dealer that it could be a possibility it was part of the recall. The dealer informed me that the year and make of my car was not part of the recall. The cost for the new air bag was over a thousand dollars there was no way that I was going to spend that kind money when there has been so many recalls. I feel since takata went bankrupt I feel that gm should be responsible since they contracted takata an outsource company.
Bought the car a year and half ago and sevice air bag light was on so dealership fixed probleb because its a safety issue the light came back on 4 months later.
Have only had this vehicle since late January 2017. Within 2 days of having it, the service stabilitrak, service traction control and reduce engine power alarms came up. There was also gas fumes filling my car. Had service completed, all that was found was a fouled out spark plug. Car has had these same alarms come up maybe a dozen times over the past 6 months. The first time these came up, vehicle was idling. Other times. I was driving on the interstate. Have also had the service airbag light come up as well. The middle seatbelt in the center of the car, doesn't come out at all.
Airbag light is on. Went in for airbag recall and light is still on. Jerry's Chevrolet said it would cost $300 to fix. Bob bell said the same. Chevrolet offers no assistance either.
"takata recall" I recently purchased a 2012 Chevrolet taverse with 35,000 miles from supreme Chevrolet Cadillac of plaquemine on 5/23/2016. The engine light has been on for a little over a week now, the "service airbag" shows on the dashboard, the airbag light is on, the steering wheel alignment is off, the passenger window power button on the driver side want roll the window down at times, their is a noise when the air is on and also when I turn it off, and gets worse when I move the steering wheel. . My car was parked in my driveway when I noticed the lights for the airbag and engine, it was in motion when I noticed the button for the window, the steering wheel alignment was off, and the noise being made. Their was a recall on 2012 Chevrolet Traverse in December of 2015 and earlier in 2015, im not sure how long a recall last but if I am gonna pay almost $41,000 for this vehicle I would like for not only myself but my 3 children and fiance to feel safe riding in it. If there is anything else I need to explain feel free to contact me. .
While driving my airbag indicator light on dash came on & message (service airbag) not sure if this is linked to any of the recalls for the airbag system or seatbelts. Current mileage is 42516 & have not yet got appointment w/the service department to have it checked. The light comes on as soon as I turn the key to start & stays on until the vehicle is parked & turned off. The light is on the highway, roadways, & at idle. It worries me in case of an accident the system may fail. (note: its best if you contact me by email).
Service airbag light is on for about 2 months an I have called dealership an gm complaint place they did a diagnostics an said it was a problem an would cost me 400$ this vehicle has never been in an accident I keep manitenaince on it . It has also been in for seatbelt safety problems. The paint is peeling off the door in the back that lifts up . The safety light goes off if I choose check system but comes back on on the read out it said some kinda connector needs to be replaced.
The middle seatbelts in the middle and back row lock up and will not release. First in the second row, the middle seatbelt locks up when the seat gets folded down. The seatbelt will then not release. Sometimes you can pull it out and let it go back a few times and it will eventually come out, but not every time. The middle seatbelt in the third row seat became wrapped around my child's neck and would not release. I had to pull over and the belt was locked so tight around his neck that I could not maneuver it to get it off of his neck. I was eventually able to get him to bend his neck far enough to get it our from behind him, but this could have been catastrophic if he did not or was not able to notify me when it happened. This happened while the car was moving. Passenger airbag light keeps coming on.
Tl-the contact owns a 2012 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that when the ignition was turned to the on position, the front passenger side air bag warning indicator illuminated continuously. The failure recurred continuously. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that there was a wiring defect underneath of the front passenger seat and the wire connection needed to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 51,000. Sg.
The service airbag and seat belt reminder light intermittently is coming on on driver dashboard. Happens with passenger is in the front seat. The passenger and driver were both bucked up. Took it to a service center and there are no codes stored. System is checking out with pass when it is checked. There are no fail indicators. Both recalls have been repaired with the seat belt and the airbag system wiring harness and the issue is still recurring.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2012 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact was not experiencing a failure until after the dealer repaired it per NHTSA campaign number: 14v118000 (air bags). Months later, a "service air bag soon" warning indicator illuminated. The dealer was notified of the failure and indicated that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was not available.
Over the past couple years the vehicle "check air bag" light has come on multiple times and a warning indicator on the dash indicating someone has not buckled their seat belt. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership at least 5 or six times for the same problem and they have been unable to correct the problem. Most recent repair attempt was 1/4/16 and I have an appointment scheduled for 2/1/16. I have reached out to the service manager, customer relations rep and most recently corporate (case# 8-1796822227). We purchased the vehicle new but have not felt safe in it since this first started happening. We try to minimise use but have 5 grand children that we regularly haul around. We don't really recall when the problem first started. Again we do not feel this vehicle is safe and believe it should be reported and looked into.
The service airbag light was on. Took it in to the dealer. They replaced the front seat outboard seat back airbag. June 5 it went back in with the airbag light on again. They fixed a connector in the driver seat side airbag. Oct 18 it went back in with the airbag light on. They replaced the front seat anchor plate tensioner. Dec 31 it went back in with the airbag light on. They replaced the module and harness assy. Feb 12 it went back in again. They replaced the wiring in passenger and driver side airbags. March 17 it went back in again. They offered me a new car.
Traveling approximately 55mph we were hit on the rear passenger side damage to the rear passenger tire well and rear right side on the body with extensive damage underneath. No airbags deployed at anytime in the vehicle. It was taken to the dealer's collision and repair shop and after several weeks it was returned. Within a week of getting it back the service airbag light came on, we took it back to collision repair center thinking it was an issue with the accident but the collision repair sent it to the dealership saying it was a warranty issue. I've taken this vehicle back 4 times now for the same service airbag light. Dealership service department supervisor keeps telling me it's an issue with there not being a grease needed on the sensors and that they apply to each sensor as it comes up, now on the 4th trip back service department manager claims that isn't correct and it has nothing to do with the issue. Each and every time I've taken this car in I have specifically asked if this is a safety issue and if it means my airbags are not working correctly every time I've been told, "no, your airbags are ok, there is no risk to you or your family. " dropped car of for final research into this issue since light came on again this week and service manager tells me that yes it does mean my airbags are not operating properly and there is a safety issue here.
