36 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2019

While exiting the freeway 6/1/2019, on the off ramp luckily, my 2014 chevy Traverse's lights start coming service stabilitrak, traction control off, service traction control, power engine reduced and the car slows down and starts jerking. I get stopped at the end of the ramp and can't get the vehicle to start moving again. Turned on my hazards and shut off the vehicle and turned it on and off several times. Finally, all the lights go off and my vehicle started moving normally again but the check engine light was on and stayed on. After several hours the check engine light went off. Taking into my mechanic to see what the problem could be but it looks like this is common on the 2014 and may not have a solution. This is really frustrating especially after only having this vehicle for 8 1/2 months! should have some kind of recall out there.

37 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 05/25/2019

Six times now , I have been driving and the stabilitrack alert goes off and then it cuts down my engine power and I couldn't go over 20-25 mph. Two of these times I was on a major highway with my three children . All other incidents happened while driving down city streets. I pulled over, turned off the vehicle for a few minutes , restarted it and the engine light comes and stays on. My husband looked it up online after the first incident and saw that it could be the throttle body sensor and replaced it. Obviously that didn't help because it happened again so we took it to get diagnosed when the engine light was still on and it said that the ignition switch needed replacing. My husband replaced that about 3 weeks ago . Two days ago , I started my car and it sputtered and died . I turned it back on after a couple of minutes and my check engine light was on so we took it back in to get diagnosed . Threw the same code saying the ignition switch needed replacing. All of this has happened within the past 10 months. I can not afford to keep throwing on random parts that aren't fixing the issue nor should I have to . This is obviously a well known issue with this make and model and needs to be resolved before someone seriously gets hurt. I cannot even drive the 20 minutes to my job without worrying whether or not I'm going to get there safely and without having to pull off the highway because my vehicle loses power . I was very excited to purchase a Traverse as I had wanted one for quite some time but now I'm very frustrated and angry about it. I'm even more frustrated with gm and their lack of response to the severity of this problem.

38 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 05/12/2019

I was driving on the highway when the car started losing power! as I hit the gas petal it would putt putt as if it wasn't getting any gas. I lost complete power at red light, had to turn the switch all the way down then back up then the car slowly winded up as if it didn't want to start so I had to give it a little gas then it cranked up on the dash board you can see the rpm going up and down as if it wanting to shut off!.

39 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 05/06/2019

Out of the blue, while driving my 2014 chevy Traverse, it started acting sluggish, "traction control light came on, "service stabilitrack error came up on dash, cruise control wouldn't work. I was on a freeway and scared to death. It wouldn't speed up and kept jerking to not go faster. Onstar registered that it was a problem with traction control. If many are having this issue with this SUV, why hasn't there been a recall? this was very dangerous. I didn't know if it would make it home.

40 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2019

My car keeps dying for no reason. It has a reading of low engine lower and traction control system needing service. They car just shuts off in the middle of the road. My vehicle went from 70 to 30 mph on the highway.

41 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 04/04/2019

Fuse box-! with no warning, a system was triggered to drop engine power dramatically plunging from 65 to below 20. This happened to me 2 times on a major highway surrounded by trucks endangering my family as I could not climb above 20mph and had to scramble to get over and not be a hazard. While the dealer initially couldn't find the problem- chevy mechanics told them to check for a specific tripped fuse- that ruins the whole box. The problem is so prevalent- the part is indefinitely on back order. This is a potentially deadly situation.

42 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 03/12/2019

I recently had my 2014 chevy Traverse in to my mechanic for maintenance, as I do when needed. After maintenance was performed, I picked my vehicle up and it drove just fine for five maybe ten miles, no issues. I was on the highway and suddenly the "service stabilitrak", "traction control off", and "service traction control" messages began flashing. Immediately after, my vehicle began jerking profusely as I was driving - it slowed the speed, and eventually quit. The messages were still there. A few more miles down the road, it began jerking again. I don't know what is going on with it but I took it back to my mechanic and he's had it since then (this was days ago) and he's having a hard time pinpointing the issue. However, I see many other Traverse owners whom are experiencing the same dangerous issue, with no resolve. My vehicle has up to this point been reliable and I thought safe, however, this issue is not safe. I have a job that I need to get back and forth from and two small children that I need to transport safely. This issue with my Traverse is beyond dangerous. My Traverse has 85,000 miles on it. Really disappointed.

43 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2019

This past Friday, I was traveling in the highway at 60mph then the car starts beeping, with immediate loss of power within seconds, down to 20mph. Error messages start flashing, the car starts shaking. Almost got hit by the person behind me as I wasn't braking, so they, nor myself, had no indication my car was about come down to a crawl. I pulled over, turned off the car, gave it a minute, restarted, and the car was back to normal and I was able to get home. The engine light remained, but it went away before I could get it to the dealer (within 3 miles), dealer is around 8 miles away. This is the 4th incident with this similar issue. Once we were waiting on a turning lane, the car started beeping, shaking, displaying errors on the dashboard, loss of power again to a crawl. We pulled over to the first parking lot in the intersection. Turned of the car, restarted and it was fine again. Then again right after putting gas. Got into the car to leave the gas station, car was beeping, shaking, displaying error messages on the dash. Turned it off, restarted and it was fine. Another time, I was approaching a light to make a right turn, the engine stalled right before I was to turn. I had to put it on part to restart the car, once it started, it ran fine. I'm afraid to drive the car in the highway. I have a 45 minute commute to work everyday. I always have to keep to the right lane in case the car acts up. The error messages that display are "service stability tract, engine power reduced, tracking control turned off" and maybe one other one. I've seen the message boards and it's happening to many owners and for several years! it is dangerous to drive like this. This should have been addressed years ago.

49 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 11/06/2018

The car has started to do a shimmy and then the car completely turns off and won't start again. There is always gas in the car, and the oil is changed regularly. The car has been taken to a local repair shop to address the issue. I was told that there is a small electrical connection box under the gas tank that was filled with dirt and getting poor contact. The small box was cleaned out and electric conductive gel was used. The car didn't have a problem for about 9 days and then it started to do the same thing as before. It has turned off mostly when the vehicle is moving. The latest time this happened was 11/6/2018.

50 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 09/30/2018

My 15 year old daughter (permit driver) driving to school for extra community service hours (on a Sunday) and the car started to shake and not accelerate, the traction control, check stability control flashing. Very dangerous situation for a 15 year old driver. We pulled over and I took the wheel, same thing happened, we barely made it back home. Also, airbag light comes on randomly, had this serviced due to recall and the problem has started again. Frustrated mom.

51 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 09/22/2018

My wife has a 2014 chevy Traverse with 60,000. The traction control and stabilitrack warnings came on the dashboard. This happened 3 times in four weeks. Once the power was reduced and the car would not accelerate. We were on a city street with light traffic and once the car stopped completely. Thank god she was in a parking lot when it happened. I have taken it to the dealer each time we get the messages. The said that they could not find anything wrong and come back if it happens again. The changed a fuse on the last visit. It has happened again and it is in the shop right now.

52 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 09/20/2018

I was driving on the interstate at around 70mph and my Traverse started shaking like there was trash in my fuel pump. Then I get a message that my traction control isn't working. Then my Traverse loses speed (and we almost get hit) and the vehicle will only go 20mph. I made it off the interstate and the dash read stabilitrak, service traction control, engine power reduced. It is now at the local chevy dealership as it is under a carmax extended warranty. When the tow truck came he could not even get it to crank and he thought it was out of gas (no. 100 miles to e) the vehicle has approximately 64000 miles on it and has been regularly serviced. I am thankful my children and I were not killed when we lost power. This is an extremely dangerous problem and unacceptable.

53 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 08/20/2018

While driving at pretty much any speed at random, the car starts shaking and the service traction control and service stabilitrak lights start flashing. Vehicle has lost all power on 2 separate occasions within 2 years. The first event was on a highway at 75 mph in 2018 and the second time at a busy intersection where the speed is 45mph in 2020. Once power is lost , brakes and steering do not work. Each time the vehicle was towed to a repair shop for repairs which included replacing the fuse box and providing better bolts to hold it securely in place.

62 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 06/27/2018

Recall (14007) repair was supposedly done may 2014 at jeff gordon Chevrolet in wilmington, nc. Car was put in the shop October 2017 at same place for same problem that prompted a recall, inaccurate fuel gauge reading. Extended warranty covered repair this time. Instrument cluster was replaced and problem fixed, according to jeff gordon Chevrolet. June 27, 2018 - we ran completely out of gas even though fuel gauge showed a quarter of tank remained. Car shut off. Thankfully we were not in motion. We were sitting in a customer's driveway. Jeff gordon Chevrolet will not cover repair, we have been told we are financially responsible. How can an obvious issue that was part of a recall not continue to be covered?.

63 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 06/21/2018

I was going through a drive-thru, and left the parking lot. When I stopped at a stop sign I heard a chime, and a traction control off, service traction control, and service stabilitrak lights came across the screen on the dashboard as well as the traction control light. So I drove back toward my job, and about 3 miles down the road, my car started to shake and the rpms started to go up!, so I started to drive to the dealership I bought it from 3 months ago, and they didn't have any appointments for today, so I left and made an appointment for tomorrow. As I was driving back to work, the car started to shake and decline in speed, this lasted about 2 minuets and then went back to normal, I parked my car at work, and went back in for 4 hours. When I came back out, all the lights were off, and it drove fine home. Hoping that the dealership can fix it, I don't feel safe driving my children in this vehicle any longer! I could have been in a wreck today! I have read this is a common problem with the Traverse! I have also read that it has yet to be fixed, I have two young children, I bought this car for safety for them, and now it could hurt them! this is not the first time this has happened, this is the longest it has lasted. It has happened about 3-5 other times, just a short 5-10 seconds and then back to normal!.

64 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 06/19/2018

Radio going crazy, horn honk for no reason when you get out of it,low battery blink then go off, check engine light go on , then go off after few minutes, speedometer act like its sticking when acceleration or deceleration, traction control light come on then go off, cruise control on and it reduce speed, tachometer go up as if your speeding up when its sitting still, car is not shifting smooth like it use to, burnt plastic smell, weird gear oil smell, but no signs of leak, and locks unlocking hours after you lock it and alarm is on, it just takes turns doing different things, started couple of weeks ago, so far, they have not figured out what's going on yet, been in shop since Tuesday and it still has warranty for pre certified cars, all these problems happened while driving it on the highway, it start with occasional incident and now its daily, I am concerned the next time instead of slowing the car down that it will just shut off like some of the others have done.

65 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 05/16/2018

Service stabilitrack/ traction control off display on dashboard while car is in motion. Car will jerk while accelerating and cruise control doesn't work. It will reset and work properly after turning car off for 1-3 min and restarting. It happens periodically on several occasions at various times and on trips of various lengths. There seems to be no pattern or precursor for the malfunction.

66 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 05/03/2018

Last week when my car was parked, it died. When I got back in, I realized it had died, and tried to start it. When I started it, all of these errors started popping "engine power reduced", "traction control is off", "service stabilitrak". The power was definitely reduced, and I could barely creep along. The car even shook like it was about to die. Then when I was trying to stop the abs breaks came on and off several times. I parked and turned it off then turned it back on after a minute. It was back to normal except the service engine light was on. So I took it to the dealership and had them check it out. They couldn't find anything to fix and said to call again if anything happened again (they did charge the battery). I went and picked it up and drove it 10 miles. I parked and shut it off. When I came back out to start it about 30 minutes later, this time there was an error about the guidelines on the camera system not working and the same stabilitrak error. So I shut it off and started it back up. It seemed to be functional after restarting it. It was okay for a few days until the major errors happened again this morning. I was trying to pull into a parking spot and it did the same thing with the same errors that I first had. It actually went to a total stop and would not move forward at all. I was thankful that I was in a parking lot and not on the highway my children in the car with me. It was so sudden, that if we had been on the highway, I am sure I would have been in an accident. I turned it off and back on and the same thing happened again with the same errors. So I turned it off again and let it sit for a minute and turned it back on. The errors were gone but the service light was on. It seemed functional again. There are tons of similar situations reported online. The dealership is supposed to check it again.

69 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 03/25/2018

On major highway, then on city street both times engine light and traction control light flash along with the vehicle hesitating, not wanting to accelerate/shaking.

70 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 03/16/2018

On more that one occasion but most recently on 03/16/2018 I have driving my vehicle and I get the first message of, "service stabilitract". The next message is, "traction control off". It is then following by, "engine power is reduced" and my check engine light comes on. The vehicle then decelerates to 10-20 mph. This has occurred to me twice while on the highway travelling in excess of 60 mph. (not while accelerating). This has occurred while accelerating from 0 mph, 30+ mph, 60+ pmh and decelerating from 60+mph, 30+mph and from 0 to 30 mph. It has occurred while turning a corner, driving in a straight line. The dealership said to bring the vehicle in after an incident without turning off the vehicle. I have not been able to drive the vehicle without ever having to stop and turn off the vehicle. The power steering is almost non-existent after reduced engine power occurs. It feels like it is running on three of the six cylinders and has almost caused me to have an accident. I almost hit a school bus once. The vehicle is at the dealership again for it's second week of diagnostics.
