While driving my traction control turns off and reduces power to the vehicle often stalling it making it hard to safely move to the side of the road. . Has been happening since I got the vehicle from a dealership.
For at least 5 years, we have been consistently encountering this same problem. After driving awhile, typically at higher speeds, we will get a error message saying to "service stabilitrack and traction control" and "traction control has been turned off". Often this is accompanied by significant shaking of the vehicle and steering column, random gear shifting, impeding your ability to control acceleration and sometimes causing steering issues. We have taken to our mechanic numerous times, and he is unable to diagnose the issue. A code reader returns: abs-tcs brake switch circuit malfunction. This issue is well-documented in vehicle forums online (google: Chevrolet Traverse stabilitrack or traction control.
My car has been having a problem with traction control/service stabilitrak and losing power to the engine since I purchased it. The problem was only occasionally, now it does it everytime I drive. First it pops up with traction control off message, once that happens it starts to lose power to the engine making the car(heavy car) shudder so bad I cannot drive. The transmission lags on acceleration and it also pops up with "service stabilitrak", "power loss to engine "and the car will not move until I can pull over and turn it off. Very scary. I have 4 kids and its losing power while im driving on the highway. Ive replaced sensors, cleaned the throttle body and also changed spark plugs and changed fuses. It's very dangerous and I found out this is very common , especially for my year.
Automobile suddenly starts trembling while reducing velocity on its own and turn on trac off light, check engine light is on.
There is a problem with the stabilitrak system that causes the vehicle to shut off while driving. This turns off the traction control and reduces power to 3 cylinders, thus causing the vehicle to go into limp mode and can cause an accident. This problem is intermittent and the dealers can't seem to find the underlying issue. It will happen whole parked, stopped at an intersection or driving at highway speeds. I have had this happen while driving in heavy traffic on the freeway and in the number one lane. My vehicle lost power and I had to try and negotiate three traffic lanes to stop along side the freeway. I had to put the transmission in park and shut the engine off for 15 seconds in order to clear the code and safely proceed back into traffic. The check engine light remains on for a period of time, but will clear itself. This is unsafe and needs to be address by gm as it is happening to multiple model types in gm vehicle lineup.
Stabilitrak control light comes on and doesnt turn off for hours or days, especially during long rides. Vehicle jerks and takes longer to get up to speed.
With no warning the steering wheel locks up and the engine reduces power and starts saying service traction control and stability track. It doesn’t his in rush hour traffic going 75 miles an hour.
As I drive down the road the engine acts like its going to stall or as im taking off it jerks.
My warning lights keep coming on saying traction control off reduced engine power service stability control. Code came up as and ignition switch problem had the ignition switch changed things were fine for a few months then started having the same problem car was bought in 2017 issues been going on since then. Car was in motion. This is a problem because its completely died on me while driving many times I have tried many things to correct the problem to no avail. Doing my own research online all signs point to this being an issue Chevrolet is aware of but won't recall or fix the issue for free.
While in motion vehicle goes up to the third rpm before taking off. Vehicle also jerks when picking up speed. The lighting system comes on and off during a ride at random regardless of the time of day. Vehicle makes loud noise when accelerating.
Tl the contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated while driving 25 mph, the vehicle started dragging and slipping into 3rd gear. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact continued driving to her destination. The contact called the local dealer - all american Chevrolet, inc. (1255 NJ-35, middletown township, NJ 07748, (732) 671-6200) and made the dealer aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
The engine in my 2014 Chevrolet Traverse died. I had only had 53k miles on the engine. This averages to around 10k miles per year, which is below average use. I maintained the car according to the car operating manual with proper maintenance and full synthetic oil changes per schedule all at the Chevrolet dealership. Leading up to my engine dying, the engine started to make some clinking noise, but no lights came one. When the dashboard panel stated to change the oil, I went within days to a local mechanic for a full synthetic oil change. No low oil or engine lights ever came on. According to the operating manual, I have 600 miles to change oil once the "change oil" message appears. I probably drove 60 miles. After the mechanic changed the oil to full synthetic, as required, the engine died/locked. At no point, did the car drive or engine start with no oil. I have video proof from the mechanic of a correct oil change. I still have a certified preowned limited powertrain warranty, which covers the engine. The dealership is refusing to honor my warranty. The dealership blames the mechanic for running the engine with no oil. I have video proof to the contrary, and the engine never indicated low oil, as the car monitors for this. I contacted gm 5 weeks ago, and they also refuse to honor my warranty.
Check engine light intermittently comes on and off. Car misfired and stalled while idling (parked). Took to mechanic and check engine code noted to bevp1682. Chevy recall 14187 and chevy recall 14007 are similar to these symptoms but currently our VIN in not included despite a similar situation. Fuel guage also reads inaccurately.
When transmission shift from 1st -2nd it will drag and pop and vibrate also when deceleration has occurred the transmission will pop and jerk when you try to accelerate between 20 mph and up to 35 mph.
While driving the stability control turns off reduced engine power and the vehicle turns off leaving you no way to stream the vehicle . This happens at all speeds and in park. Engine code p1682. Been happening since April 2018. Two time engine turn off as I was driving on highway.
C0242,p1682. While driving the stability control turns off reduced engine power and the vehicle turns off leaving you no way to stream the vehicle . This happens at all speeds and in park. This happens everyone the vehicle is driven.
Multiple times the car has just lost power. The dash goes crazy with lights and warnings. Chevy tells me there is nothing they can do because there isn't a code and they can't replicate the problem. Twice I have been driving and this has happened and once when I pulled into a parking spot. Now it does shift really. It revs the rpms, jerks, sputters, and puts while trying to turn or accelerate. Its so scary because its the only vehicle we have to fit us and our newborn. I hate chevy refuses to acknowledge an issue.
I purchased this vehicle used and within 3 months my airbag service light came on. I told back to the dealer and I was told my extended warranty would not cover the the airbag service. This is a safety issue and should be covered by the manufacture with the massive airbag recall a few years ago. Now my car dashboard is getting very dim while driving and then brightens and again the dealership is unable to find the problem and this is also a safety problem, with no recall.
Vehicle was in motion when suddenly lost power and started flashing these warnings, traction control service, park assist off, stability control service.
I received an alert that some 2014 Chevrolet Traverses had a recall that required a computer update; however, researching my VIN # shows no recall. I have experienced several electrical type issues that was explained to me that the computer system is losing contact with several modulators. So far it has been my power train modulator, fuel pump modulator and my on-star modulator. I strongly feel like this is a manufacture defect and that a recall should be issued to correct the problem. No accident has occurred at the time of this complaint but I feel that it won't be long before I have an issue that will result in an accident.
Radio going crazy, horn honk for no reason when you get out of it,low battery blink then go off, check engine light go on , then go off after few minutes, speedometer act like its sticking when acceleration or deceleration, traction control light come on then go off, cruise control on and it reduce speed, tachometer go up as if your speeding up when its sitting still, car is not shifting smooth like it use to, burnt plastic smell, weird gear oil smell, but no signs of leak, and locks unlocking hours after you lock it and alarm is on, it just takes turns doing different things, started couple of weeks ago, so far, they have not figured out what's going on yet, been in shop since Tuesday and it still has warranty for pre certified cars, all these problems happened while driving it on the highway, it start with occasional incident and now its daily, I am concerned the next time instead of slowing the car down that it will just shut off like some of the others have done.
When applying brakes, it makes a sound like water and has been doing that since purchase 09/17, and when accelerating there's a jerking like the engine is trying to engage????? all in motion.
My transmission sleeps a lot. What these main problem is service traction control and the stabilitrak. This happens every time I drive the car I lose speed I could be on the freeway and my speed drops to almost a stop. Every time I take it into the service shop it show that nothing is wrong with it. I'm 65 years old and I need a car that's reliable I'm so disappointed with thr.
My vehicle only has 45,000 miles. The past few months, I have been experiencing problems with the motor as it suddenly loses potency as the vehicle is in motion. The check engine light is always on. When the motor loses potency, it puts "track control on" and "track control off" right away, as well as a sign to service "stabilitrack". I have taken the car to the mechanic and they did a computerized scan where it shows there are problems with the oxygen sensor, low air entrance, problems with the injectors, low voltage problem, brake system off, etc. In conclusion, a series of problems with the car which are not real. I have searched online and there are thousands to claims due to this same problem I am having. To this date, I have not found any recall of the manufacturer to fix this.
41k miles and transmission sometimes won't shift. I even had to pull over today and shut off the car after it wouldn't upshift up a residential hill. 41k miles and had to replace front brake pads already. They had plenty of brake left, but they were cracked.
When I drive car wheels, transmission and power train freeze up for approximately 30 seconds to a minute intermittently while I drive. This is happening with more frequency while I drive. It happens whether I am driving 5 mph or 65 mph.
Purchased the vehicle in Jan/2017 certified pre-owned. After about 2-3 months I would notice a lack of power when trying to accelerate. It seemed as though the vehice was trying to keep up on a 25mph street. The vehicle would also "jerk" when accelerating. And just today I got a flashing check engine light and a warning that the traction control was off, has a loss of engine power, and after about 30 seconds the warnings went away and the car began to gain acceleration.
While driving this car I will get three audible "bongs" then I will get error messages "service stabilitrak", traction control off", engine power reduced". At this time I have no control over the speed of this vehicle. I can depress the gas pedal and get an increase in engine rpm but no more forward speed (mph). My forward speed will continue to decrease. I will have to pull off the road and turn the engine off. Wait two or three minutes then restart the engine. If I am lucky the vehicle will operate normally but will display a service light on the dash board. This vehicle is dangerous. I have contacted my auto dealer and parts were installed. I asked about the cause of this predicament and the service manager said the same situation could be caused by a hundred different sensors in the vehicle. I now have the same problem with this vehicle. 17k miles and 12 months later. Again; this vehicle is dangerous. If this happens while passing another vehicle on a country road or if these errors occur while driving down an on ramp to hi-way traffic the danger increase. I understand the need for error messages to warn of engine problems but the control of forward speed should not be taken away from the driver.
Slightly in motion about 5 mph and sometimes around 50 mph, the dic will reset within a split second, the radio will cutoff and all dashboard signs will come on momentarily like a reset. This is a possible electrical issue due to faulty ignition switch, faulty engine control module, ignition switch harness shorted or even poor electrical connection causing voltage difference.
Takata recall. Engine lights come in regularly since the purchase of the vehicle. Car jerks when gas is pressed going uphill also has been occurring occasionally from purchase of vehicle. Power steering just went out.
