1 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 03/27/2026

There is a transmission recall for 2009 to 2017 Chevrolet Traverses. My Traverse has the exact same transmission and engine as the recall but for some reason gm decided not to add my VIN to the recall. My vehicle is experiencing the exact same issues recorded in the recall. I called the gm dealership who could not help. I called [xxx] directly who told me that customers can’t make any decisions like that. This is unacceptable. If there is an issue with my vehicle due to a recall, then my VIN should have been part of the recall so that I can have the issue fixed. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

10 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 07/05/2022

7/5/22 it has now been over a month since we started to have our car serviced at ourisman Chevrolet of bowie. On 7/3/22 while driving up a hill in our neighborhood the engine shut off, the brakes gave out, and the power steering stopped working. Had we been anywhere else my children, husband, and I could be dead from being in a serious car accident. This problem was confirmed by the dealer and reported to be caused by a "defective part" being installed. When I inquired about why there wasn't a recall for this part I was informed that it is a rare defect but they the service department receives a vehicle with identical problems every 3-4 months. We received no warning lamps, messages, or other signs that this was going to happen. During the week of memorial day we noticed the fuel gauge misreading and the air conditioning blowing warm. This problem was repeatedly reported. The air conditioning was repaired. The fuel gauge continues to misread.

12 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 11/17/2020

Since I acquired the vehicle at around 100k miles, there is a transmission shift wobble at 30mph, 40mph, 45mph, 60mph and 65mph. I drove a manual transmission for over 10yrs prior to this vehicle and when this transmission wobble happens, I just reved a bit and let the gas go so it shifts better into the next gear. I just got used to it, my worry began when the wobble would happen while on cruise control. No check engine light comes on, there’s no computer codes registering, it just shakes and wobbles like the tranny is gna give out around those speeds.

15 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 02/15/2020

When putting gas in my 2017 Traverse, when I go to crank it, it's takes a while to start and then when it does start, it idles really high. Sometimes if I'm at a complete stop, the engine just cuts off. Tonight when I was driving to the store with my family, the engine cuts off while driving in the middle of the road. This is really scary because I live in atlanta, GA and often take the highway and I'm afraid the engine will shut off in the middle of driving. This is very dangerous. I've called chevy and I am waiting on a call back because I had to leave a voicemail. I looked for a recall and could not find any. This is very odd considering all of the people who are having the same issue.

18 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2019

The transmission started slipping about 18,000 miles it now has thirty-one thousand miles on it and it's still an issue. It gets so bad to where throws you forward when it slips. It slips between 2nd and 3rd gear. I've had it into the chevy dealer many times they say that's normal. However a transmission slipping is not normal. They refuse to fix it. I have video of the transmission slipping.

20 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 10/18/2018

My engine, while the car was stationary, made a loud cranking noise. It sounded like large metal pieces grinding together. The entire car would then rumble and the engine light would come on. After sitting for a while it would stop. The rumbling would happen almost every time my vehicle is at a standstill. It would also do a jerking motion while driving on the road. The gm repair mechanics said it was a small valve. They replaced it but the same thing continued to happen. My car was brand new when I purchased it in 2017.

21 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/20/2018

This has happened 3 times while driving down the interstate at 70mph. While driving all of a sudden my dash starts flashing traction control off & then flashes service stabilitytrac & my engine loses power and starts jerking kind of like your are running out of gas. This lasts until you stop and turn off the car for about 5 min then restart it. But it keeps happening when I get back on the interstate.
