Adas Parking Assist Sensors problems of the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse

The contact owns a 2018 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked and shifted to park(p), the shift to park sensor failed to function as intended. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked; however, the shift to park(p) warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was determined that the shift to park sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 116,479.
