While driving going home to deming,nm together with my daughter and son on [xxx] . I was driving over a bridge over path on [xxx] and without warning my electrical power steering gave out on the Traverse I could not turn my steering wheel left or right I thought I was going to be in an accident because there was semi trucks going 80 miles an hour behind me we almost got hit by semi’s. Thank god I forced my steering wheel to the right with all my strength. I had to call the towing company we waited 3 hours until he got there even he said we could of had an accident. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
The power steering shut off suddenly while driving and I could not move my steering wheel.
The vehicles fails to recognize it’s in park and does not shut off. Shift to park indicator turns on. Frequently have to park on incline and worried the vehicle will roll. The vehicle will not completely turn off and this has caused the steering to lock. When the vehicle finally turned off, then turned it back on we couldn’t get the steering wheel to unlock. Had to drive it with what felt like no power steering for a period of time. Shift to park indicator blinks and warning light appears that says no remote is detected, yet the remote is in the vehicle. Been in a situation where had to quickly get in to a dr but the vehicle wouldn’t turn off so had to leave the vehicle running. At that point anything could happen, but had to take care of a sick child.
The issue is with the Traverse stabilitrak system. The stabilitrak system controls, includes traction control, emergency brakes, tire monitoring, etc. As I understand it. The stabilitrak lights has been intermittently coming on for several months. I took the truck to the manufacture and was charged over $1,700. 00 to fix the problem. After the repairs, I picked up the vehicle and within three miles of the dealership the issue manifested itself again. The stabiltrak system light usually indicates as the vehicle waits at a traffic light, and just as I accelerate for the signal change. The vehicle frequently stalls at that point, creating a rear end hazard, and a dangerous situation for me and other commuters. Upon returning the vehicle to the dealership, they claimed not to be able to identify the issue, that they initially charged me over $1,700. 00 to fix. The said they could not recreate the problem, although it is a persistent problem that occurs within minutes of the vehicle operation.
Power steering assist warning comes up. Becomes very doiccicult to steer and also caused stability control to be turned off. Extremely dangersous as my car could have rolled and killed me or my passengers. And appears to be a major issue, as what I have found online and manufactirer/dealer dont care. Please do something before people start dying/crashing because of this. 2nd concern - shifter. . . . . . Starts refysing to go into park. Eventually killing the battery. Switch is all messed up and alot of people have hte same issue an ddealer/manufactrurere refuse to do anything. . . They will fix it, at owners cost, for 700 bucks, which it only took me 30 minutes, not 2. 5 hrs like they said.
I had just got gas and the vehicle took longer than usual to start/turn over. I was leaving the store and sitting at the stop sign that is on a small incline. When I proceeded to go, my truck shook a few times, cut off, and I had no control of the vehicle. The brake pedal would not push down and my vehicle began rolling backwards. There was a car behind me that started honking his horn because I was going to run into him. I pushed the start/turn off ignition button and tried the brakes again and it worked. I had to sit there for about 5 minutes to get myself together because I was terrified to take off again. About a week later I was pulling out from my subdivision and the truck started alarming to service the stabilitrak as I was pulling out. At the moment, the steering wheel became almost impossible to turn and the car didn't want to go! I had several cars coming my way and my vehicle was in the middle of the road. Thank goodness the cars slowed down and my vehicle decided to start working. About a month later it started sounding like a go-kart. I had the vehicle checked out by a mechanic and I was told I needed a new battery and my exhaust pipe had a hole. I bought the battery and the $1200 pipe and had it installed. Now a different exhaust pipe has a hole and the part is on back order because apparently this is a frequent reccuring issue but no recall. I never feel safe driving my truck and it is a 2018 and not yet at 100,000 miles, that is pretty sad! the vehicle is available for inspection.
I started my car and it felt weird and made a strange noise. An error message cande on saying 'steering assist is reduced, drive with care. I drove a few blocks and the message remained on until I returned to my home. My backseat reminder alarm also does not work anymore. My car is a 2018 chevy Traverse.
From a complete stop when starting off the front end pulls to the right took it to dealer they said its normal. . . Gear shifter wont stay in park. . Have to start and stop several time. . When pulling off car fills like its shaking and shuddering. .
Car had about 10000 miles and in two separate occasions has stalled, steering wheel had stop working, couldn't steer, car turns off when stopped at traffic lights, alrms go off and dealer just says they can only reprogram the computer, no repairs available. On a third time braking system alarms went off and dealer had to replace the braking system. Vehicle has always failed while in motion. Dealer and manufacturer will be responsible if someone gets hurt because this car does not function as it should.
Driving this SUV on the road the inner liner under the fender started to come down and rub on the tire, smelly rubber was being burnt as I stop right away and notice the weak cheap fabric that was in-place instead of a hard plastic came down almost causing a fire hazard !! what a cheap car and yes to those who own this car or drive it your in danger beware! this product should be replaced ASAP, before a counter lawsuit happensgm!also ive notice! if you turn your wheel all the way your cv,joints will make this clicking noise like there ready to go out ? took it to my dealer and they said gm told them to replace a crew to stop the noise called gm and ask them but they said no we didn't ?.
I have owned this truck for less than 4 months, bought it brand new off the show room floor. I was driving today to pick up lunch on a city street when an error message appeared saying caution, power steering and suddenly it was impossible to steer the vehicle. I had to carefully drive and pull over to the side of the road.
Steering, turn either way, backing out of space there is a strange click noise, has 4631 miles only. Blue tooth won't come on all of sudden either for hands free speaking.
Keep getting error message: "assisted steering is limited. Please drive carefully". The car was in motion on a city street truing turns. When error code was displayed. Car only has 552 miles. This could be a potential steering issues for the 2018 models.
