The contact owns a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle failed to accelerate. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who retrieved diagnostic trouble code p0091 (fuel pressure regulator 1 control circuit low). The contact was informed that the high-pressure fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000.

Gasoline Fuel System problem #2

The contact owns a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle jerked abnormally and stalled. The check engine warning light was illuminated. Additionally, the message "shift into neutral, and start vehicle" was displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer; where the fuel injectors were cleaned; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that while attempting to use the push-to-start feature, the vehicle hesitated to start. The vehicle was taken back to the same local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the fuel injectors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to a local pep boys for a second opinion, where it was diagnosed, and several unknown error codes were retrieved. The vehicle was not repaired. Upon further investigation, the contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 20v639000 (fuel system, gasoline); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

Gasoline Fuel System problem #3

The contact owns a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated when she depressed the accelerator following a traffic stop the vehicle was not gaining forward momentum. The contact stated the vehicle was driving at a maximum of 15 mph. The contact stated that as she depressed the accelerator the vehicle would not even rev. The contact stated the check engine, parking brake and stability tract lights were illuminated. The contact was able to drive the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the failure as insufficient fuel to the engine from the fuel pump. The mechanic determined that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The contact was advised by the mechanic that the failure was related to NHTSA campaign number: 20v639000 (fuel system, gasoline) and referred the contact to a dealer. The contact called a local dealer who advised her that her VIN was not part of the VIN selection. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
