Three problems related to wiper have been reported for the 2020 Chevrolet Traverse. The most recently reported issues are listed below. Please also check out the statistics and reliability analysis of the 2020 Chevrolet Traverse based on all problems reported for the 2020 Traverse.
The backup camera system on my 2020 Chevrolet Traverse fails repeatedly and intermittently. When shifting into reverse, the camera frequently displays a black screen, a crossed-out camera icon, or an error message indicating the camera is unavailable. I have brought the vehicle to a Chevrolet dealership multiple times for this issue. The dealer has replaced the rear/front camera twice and replaced a corroded cable, but the problem continues to occur. The repairs have not permanently resolved the issue. The failure happens unpredictably and makes it unsafe to reverse the vehicle, especially around pedestrians, children, or obstacles. This vehicle is equipped with a federally required backup camera, and its repeated failure presents a safety concern. The problem appears to be a recurring defect rather than normal wear, as many other Chevrolet Traverse owners have reported similar issues online. I am concerned this may indicate a broader defect affecting this model year.
Display screen for camera is black with indicator of camera malfunction. In for repair at dealer 3 times 1) first diagnosis was the video control module, that was replace and worked for a few months 2) second time black screen, diagnosis was rear camera, that was replaced, worked a few months. 3) black screen again, currently in for repair again.
When weather is slightly humid / wet and around 50 to 65 degrees, the front windows constantly fog up to the point that both defrosters and wipers are inefficient. This creates a safety and visibility issue especially at night. No amount or speed of defroster addresses the issue. This has been observed on my vehicle as well as many others, creating a safety and operability issue. The issue is on the exterior of the window, possibly from a film or ventilation issues on the interior. No amount of hot or cold temperature addresses the issue other than a wiper runnign constantly, even when it is not raining or wet outside.
