Onstar module failed causing battery to drain and no eta on part -- from chevy - to drive the vehicle the module is disconnected by the dealer as parasitic battery drain causes all other safety systems to fail - with module disconnected hazard lights will not work - so if situation happens where hazards are necessary to save occupants life they are not working and functioning due to care to able to function.

19 Sep 2025. The headlights turn off at night while driving. With the switch in the "auto" position, I turned the switch to "off" then back to "auto" and they came back on for a short period of time. They turned off again, I turned them to "on", they came back on for a brief period. I had to keep switching the headlight switch from "on" to "off" and back to "on" every 20 to 30 seconds (estimated) to keep driving. The dealership could not schedule a diagnosis until 8 oct 2025. This is a potentially fatal issue.

Passenger tail light kept getting moisture in it causing it to stop working. Local dealer,gm,Chevrolet and 3rd party show sold out or discontinued. I have a vehicle I am paying for that I can't drive or risk getting a ticket or rear ended everytime I go to work. Item is on backorder with no date for deliveries to start.

Sunday night 4/7/24, I was on my way to the emergency department with my 5 month old baby to be seen. 30min into my drive I came to a stop light when my truck completely shut off (blackout) no power, no lights not even my hazard would turn on, my car wouldn't go into park or allow me to press on my breaks it was like they were glued stuck. All my doors locked and I couldn't get them to open, not even manually because of the nobs that go all the way in. I couldn't put the car into park or anything just got locked in my car and I couldn't even hit the onstar because everything was off! I started to see cars coming from a distance so I started to panic because they were going to rear end us really bad, so I broke the driver window and went to warn drivers to please stop by putting myself at risk to get hit by a car because I didn't know what else to do, I had a 5month old baby in the back seat that would have died if I didn't pull her out and we got hit. I started to scream for help because it was dark and we were stuck. Two cars came inches from rear ending us, which caused an accident between the two vehicles. Thankfully a police officer was passing by and got behind my Traverse to stop traffic. But if it wasn't for the cop I don't know what the outcome would have been. This is a huge safety issue. If the car was on fire we would have burned. This needs to be recalled ASAP. Why would they design a car where you cannot get out. And why did it shut off like this. ???? I need answers please. I'm terrified to drive my car and this was a $38,000 vehical this is not ok!!!!.
My drivers side quarter panel taillight has stopped working due to moisture in the light (no visible breakage on light), this was in January. This part is on continuous backorder with no eta of coming back in stock. The light is an led and therefore cannot replace just the bulb. I travel for work and drive through large cities and have no left turn signal or brake light which is extremally dangerous.
My quarter panel taillight has stopped working due to moisture in the light (no visible breakage on light). This part is on continuous backorder with no eta of coming back in stock. Dealer has ordered part but will not give a loaner car. Gm acknowledged backorder but will not give rental reimbursement. I have three children I am to put in this car that does not have a left turn signal or brake light. I feel unsafe driving this car as I may be rear ended but everyone I talk to says they can't do anything. What am I to do.
After purchasing our vehicle we noticed back up camera view was switch to a globe view and noise in vehicle when driving over 40 mph that sound like electric wires shorting. Took to dealership they said they did updates to information center. After a few days it continued to do the same issues. Called dealership back and they took another look at it and said they once again pushed out a large update. Well vehicle continued to have same issues with addition of now rear view camera is going while in drive. Stereo screen gets all glitched up. Took it back and they kept it for a week and claimed they replaced stereo next day after picking it up it continues to have same issues and now my apple carplay doesn’t work. They claim I need wifi to have it connected. Which is a lie it was working before they replaced stereo. I have contacted gm regarding all this. There is an open case. We have only had our Traverse for 3 months. I have videos as well that my children have taken while reverse camera is going while I’m driving in drive.

Headlights , especially high beams are positioned too high. High beams literally illuminate treetops without placing even one lumen of light on the surface of the road. Dealer claims lights meet manufacturer specs and won’t/can’t adjust them.
The vehicle has a brake light over the hatch but no bottom brake lights. Replaced bulbs and fuses and brake light switch and still no brake lights. Took it to a shop and they don't know what's wrong. After getting gas I crunk car, put it in drive and car started going in reverse and front air wouldn't work either but back air did. It seems to be an electrical issue. Just got vehicle in June of 2023. The brake light issue needs attention immediately very dangerous. I've been behind an acadia and an equinox and noticed they don't have bottom brake lights either. The spare tire is also too low and squeaky when operating vehicle and can fall of while driving. Please fix these issues it's very dangerous and very upsetting.

The car is equipped with an automatic light feature designed to activate in low-light conditions, such as early mornings or evenings. However, the system only triggers when it is completely dark. Even in very low sunlight, the lights do not turn on, which can be dangerous as the car may not be fully visible on highways.
On March 4, 2023, I purchased a 2015 Chevrolet Traverse from landers Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, ram located in norman, oklahoma. Before actually purchasing the vehicle and after inspection it was stated to the dealership that the robertson’s would not purchase the vehicle with the various problems notated before purchase. After receiving a verbal agreement that the problems would be fixed my wife and I signed the contract. My wife and I took the car to lawton oklahoma from mach 4 to March 8 when we were to return the vehicle for repairs. Then on March 17, 2023, we picked the vehicle up from landers after repairs. After leaving landers Chrysler and then getting onto he bailey turnpike the vehicle’s check engine light came back on, and the passenger headlight was out again. However, on March 20, 2023, carl robertson wrote a letter to landers Chrysler with several complaints which needed to be rectified. •failure to disclose material information, and/or making a false representation of a present or past material fact such as a diagnostic trouble code: (catalyst system efficiency below threshold [possible needed repairs] 2015 Chevrolet Traverse) known to dealer, and by the dealer’s failing to disclose such information involving the vehicle's history to a recent purchaser, and lending institution. Landers Chrysler did fix the problem with the check engine light, but refused to fix the front headlight problem, and told the robertson’s that since they had a service contract, that should cover the headlight situation. However, that is not the case. The service contract does not cover headlight problems, and classic Chevrolet where the vehicle is now located wants to charge me over $2000 to fix the problem. Although my wife and I thought that the headlight was fixed, it was later learned that it was not. I sincerely believe that landers Chrysler knew that the headlights and possibly light switches had serious problems, then sold the vehicle knowing this.

Driving home tonight there was a car in front of me so my low beams were on. I saw a deer approaching from the right side of the roadway while at the same time dropping down into a small dip in the road and because the headlights are so low I lost sight of the deer as it was then in the shadows with no illumination because the headlights were now facing further downward. I had to turn my high beams on coming to a complete stop to then see the deer to avoid hitting it. This is very unsafe. Small hills and dips cause you to lose sight of the road up ahead at night.

The headlight position on the 2022 Traverse is horrible and a tremendous safety hazzard. Driving in rain, at night, the headlights being lower on the front end dramatically inhibits visibility. Unless you drive with the high beams on, you can't see at all. Last week I drove in falling snow at night and visibility was again inhibited due to the position of the headlights. But also, I had to keep pulling over to wipe the headlights off because snow off of the vehicles in front of me was covering the headlights due to them being so low on the vehicle. This was a safety hazzard in that the visibility was horrible, but I was also sitting on the side of the road, during a snowstorm, every time I had to get out to wipe them off. I did not have this issue with my 2018 Traverse.
Both the driver and passenger side rear turning signals accumulate condensation (if conditions permit, liquid water). When the automatic lights are engaged the rear turning signal will blink rapidly (as if the bulb was out). This problem does not occur when the day-time running lights are on. Estimated repair costs are $600 per light, as the entire housing must be replaced rather than just replacing the bulbs when they wear out.
The right rear quarter panel stop turn signal light started to retain moisture then the turn signal and stop light stopped working all together. The light is an led and therefore cannot replace just the bulb. I am having no luck finding the correct replacement as any search turns up a part discontinued by Chevrolet.
The tail light is collecting moisture out of nowhere. Went to the dealer to get the item looked at, was told that it was not covered under the warranty. The price to repair will be almost 1300 to replace, this is crazy. Gm needs to do something about this. The moisture in the light is a potential for all the electrical wires to burnout.
Rear taillight has moisture inside which can cause an electrical shortage. Upon google search, there are tons of other 2018 Traverses with the same issue. I contacted the dealership about a gm service bulletin about the same issue but they stated we would have to pay out of pocket for this issue.
The right rear outside signal light assembly is defective. Shoddy workmanship allowed moisture into the assembly shorting out the led lighting. The signal, including 4-emergency light stopped functioning. The entire assembly must be replaced. There is not simply a light bulb to change. The replacement cost of over $500 will cause people to not change the assembly thus prolonging the operation of the vehicle in an unsafe manner.
2014 chevy Traverse lt. Randomly driving on the freeway @ 60-65mph going uphill it started losing power. It started stuttering/coughing. The traction control off and service stabilitrak lights flashed. I finally got it home and shut it off. The next morning it drove fine. Then it happened agai a few days later. I replaced the throttle body after it was diagnosed as the problem. On the way home it did the same thing. It wasn't the throttle body. Now they can't find out what is wrong with it. There are no codes. The service repair guys say it is overheating in the shop but not when they drive it and they don't know why. There are no codes. I told them it was random. If I am driving on the interstate and have these problems and have to turn off the engine and sit for any amount of time is dangerous. Especially if the heat is over 100 degrees as it has been. I'm not sure if it is related to this problem, but my control panel lights go from dim to light randomly. I can't see anything on them during the day when dim. No warnings etc that may flash.
First I will say I am an experienced driver with 40 years of driving experience and owned may automobiles. This is the first automobile I have owned with led headlights. During my product research, car review magazines touted led headlights as superior. Sadly, I have not found this to be the case. I have found with the led headlights, there is a very distinct horizontal line, almost a focused, horizontal beam of light, which can literally be described as night and day. The headlights, while driving on a perfectly flat surface, illuminates the road quite well in the distance and seem to work best on the expressway. But no road is perfectly flat. Driving through my neighborhood at night, with cars parked on the side of the road, a road with a slight rolling waviness, as I am travelling down one of these rather gentle crests, the road in the distance front of me is not illuminated (as the beam of light is projecting downward), and I have found that in general, dark colored cars parked on the side of the road are hidden until I am almost upon them. To make matters worse, just driving through the neighborhood at night, irregardless of the road, I have found that these head lights do not cause the reflectors on parked cars to illuminute at all due to the beam of light projecting low and not enough light scatter, which makes it difficult to identify dark colored parked vehicles. Also, I live in a neighborhood with no sidewalks. People are out on the streets walking. If they have dark colored clothing on, it is extremely difficult to see these people as once again, the beam of light is projected low. On the older cars with halogen lighting, there was enough light scattering about to fully illuminate pedestrians as well as activate the rear relectors on cars. I feel these led head lights are quite dangerous and hope inprovements can be made. No incidents have occured, but I feel this will be an ongoing problem.
Left rear light side-marker assembly is not functional after 3 years in service and less than 29,000 miles. The side marker indicator inside the vehicle flashes rapidly (in quick succession) when the left blinker is applied. This indicated to me that a bulb was out. Initially, all lights were working when inspecting and inside flasher was quickly blinking. After checking multiple times, the left rear blinker finally stopped working altogether. This left rear indicator mark prevents others from knowing which direction I'm turning unless I stick my left arm out the window. The vehicle was taken in to dealership. Dealership said it needed the light assembly replaced at a cost of ~$867. We may have this done outside of an oem dealership due to cost.
Led tail lamp burned internally. There are no fuses in for any of these lamps in the owners manual. Dealership blamed the non functional light on water damage without having even investigated what was wrong. Chevy's own TSB states moisture normal(01-08-42-001l). I personally removed the lamp after the dealer asked over $900 to replace it, stating moisture damaged it. The dealer never inspected it. It's electronics are burnt!.
I have had all electrical work done. The lights keep going out on my truck. I replace the low beam lights frequently. I also have problems when I pump gas. The truck stalls and does not want to crank. I have had that problem fixed before and it is doing it again.

I keep having to get the air conditioning fixed. I had all of the electrical work done and replaced and a few months later it went back out. I replaced the condensor. I had more freon added and it still blows out warm air. This is the 3rd time that I have had the air to not work. Very frustrating! when the car is in motion, it still does not work.
My vehicle & many many more are effected with the daytime driving lights that come on when vehicle is put in gear. Great idea, but no taillights ever come on. I have almost run into multiple vehicles in foggy conditions. It also has a negative purpose in snow & rain. Can't believe this has not been brought to your attention before this.
Going down the interstate at night, and all of sudden my lights and radio went completely out and then back on. The alternator drop past the 14 v. We have had the battery and the alternator check and they are showing working in good condition. Sometimes the alternator will drop down below the 14 v, and sometimes is stays above the 14 v.

"takata recall" while driving on i70 south in the fast lane my 2009 chevy Traverse started to loose power, lights started flickering, and then ultimately stopped as I was partially in the roadway. State patrol had to come out and move the vehicle and assure my safety of exiting on this very dark interstate. The vehicle would not even start up again. And this was three days following a tune-up w/6 new coil packs, oil change w/filter and flow vent. And all this cost almost 600. 00 bucks because coils are nearly 45. 00 per coil. And all this had to happen because of a constant misfire in all of my cylinders. So I had the truck towed 48 miles home and then 16 miles to the dealer just to be told that this truck has a timing chain recall that was never done. So I was told by the dealership to call che y corporate office. Lol. Chevrolet told me that the the recall expired and that I would have to pay for the timing chain myself. After 2 years of constant spending. Im done and have been advised to sue. The trooper called to follow up with me because I did almost die on the interstate because my vehicle went completely out and 18 wheelers were going extremely fast. And he provided me with a complete police report to go after chevy. My two kids now hate the vehicle. My daughter cried all through the 4th of July because of the trauma. And chevy should not be allowed to sell family vehicles without having a families safety in mind. This was my first chevy purchase and it will be my last. This is not a company I wish to support. Because it could careless about our lives and safety. I refuse to pay another 2k to repair an issue that had a recall that I didnt know about. #2ndownersclub.

Flashing engine light, stabilitrack light, traction control light, all of the different codes flashing, then air conditioner blows hot, vehicle won't go forward, it just stops right there, and there is nothing you can do. It generally happens when you're driving on city streets stopping or starting.

The low beam/driving lights stop working while the vehicle is being driven. This occurs alternately and intermittently. This issue causes problems with visibility for driver and others.
My car, on four separate occasions, while I'm either driving on the freeway, or long stretches of roads, has malfunctioned, starting with the service stabilitrak indicator coming on, then traction control off function flashing, then the engine reducing speed until you're able to pull over and eventually stop before the car cuts off. I have taken it to the dealer twice in an effort for them to tell me what's wrong, and each time, they either didn't know, or were unsure. The last time I took it, after being instructed to make sure the check engine light was on, they still were unable to tell me precisely what was wrong, and that they changed a relay, and if that wasn't the problem, the whole fuse box needed to be replaced. I have called gm in response to this, asking how on earth would a fuse box need to be replaced on a vehicle that's only three years old with less than 100,000 miles, but of course their customer service department wasn't helpful in that regard. When I finally spoke to the dealership again, they let me know that the part was on national backorder. That indicates to me that their is a national problem with either the car or the part. I called gm again but was told that it is normal for a part to be on a national backorder. I'm not buying it, and I believe there are many owners with the same problem, and they won't want to own their problem, and leave the vehicle owners on the line to pay for repairs for something that's clearly defective. Please hold them accountable!.

Housing cases crack from the inside and water gets in. Shorts out the fuse. Constant changing on bulbs on headlamps and stop lamps. Housing cases for lights cost more than car note. Onstar not alerted by problem and I don't know until I'm driving and someone else flags me down. Multiple people have almost rear-ended me.
Moisture is visible in both front head lamps after rain or dew from overnight. Bergey's Chevrolet (colmar, PA) saw pictures and advised there is a service bulletin from Chevrolet that they are aware of the issue and to only replace them if they are filled with water. Otherwise the lights should clear within 2-6 hours. Not comet lt satisfied with h the answer but will monitor.

All the dash lights go out. Very dangerous especially at night. Sometimes turning on another electrical device will restore, sometimes shutting vehicle down and restarting will help. Have tried covering/ cleaning light sensor, no help. Just have to wait until it decides to work. Started about 6 years ago. Getting progressively worse. No warning lights. Had independent mechanic check it, he says problem with instrument cluster. Hard to tell as it was working when he looked at it. I need your support before this causes an accident. 2014 Chevrolet Traverse. 69,200 miles.
