general problems of the 2015 Chevrolet Trax

While driving in the highway vehicle lost power and gray smoke came out off the exhaust, it was hard to accelerate and tcs warning light and check engine light popped up. Tcs warning light extinguished but check engine light still on. Cars behind me could have hit me from behind, because it was a sudden loss of speed, it made other drivers switch lanes creating the risk of crashing others or myself. I have taken the car to a mechanics and some say it’s the turbo and others say they don’t know what it can be and can’t really help me.

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Trax. The contact stated that upon entering the vehicle, the vehicle failed to emit an audible chime, indicating that the seat belts had not been fastened. While driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact heard an abnormal clicking sound coming from the front end of the vehicle. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the passenger’s side upper control arm. The vehicle was repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 19v652000 (suspension) and NHTSA campaign number: 16v422000 (electrical system, equipment) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 94,000.

My 2015 blue chevy Trax is under 38k miles and the paint is peeling off the tailgate under the window. After finding out that many of my same car, same color are having the exact same issue in the same spot. I can provide pictures of when the peeling started happening and in a short amount of time how much has come off. My safety has not been put at risk. It has been taken to an authorized chevy dealership and was told that there was nothing they could do, I showed all the other cars of my same model and color having the same issue and they said because there was no recall there was nothing they could do. This seems to be a factory defect with the car, but it is being ignored by chevy because it is out of warrently timeline.

The car is spuddering when I drive and, its really unsafe. When I try to drive it basically skips when I try to drive.

My key will not come out of the ignition when put in park and trying to exit the vehicle.

I was driving my 2015 chev Trax and all of a sudden the vehicle started idling very rough and I was not able to accelarate. When I would push on the accelarator it would go down but the car would not speed up. I took the vehicle home and the next day I took it to an auto repair place where the mechanic said that there were multiple miscodes firing and that the check engine light was flashing. They advised that I immediately take it to the dealership and on the way there the check engine light came on and the vehicle died. I sat for a minute and restarted and drove it into the dealership. The service person said I should have turned it off and had it towed but I was close to the dealership. Onstar sent me 3 messages: two were regarding the traction control system and one was for the exhaust emissions system. As nothing had changed from the previous days this may be a Trax issue. I did fill up my gas task a week before but nothing happened during the majority of that week as I drove then veh approx 150 miles after that. The airbag sensor for the passenger seat is not working properly. When passenger is seated the light "passenger airbag off" is shown as if no one is seated. Airbag isn't turned to the on position. This happens as soon as the passenger seats down, while the car is stationary or moving. The sensor is defective. I have been driving like this for few years now. When brought up the issue I have been told by an employe at the dealership it was because the passenger might not be seated properly. I finally insisted on having it check and turned out that the dealer found the sensor for the airbag passenger seat was in fact defective/failing. The dealer charged me the cost of the repair (as I now own the car) even though at the time when the problem started the car was still under the warranty. This problem did occur 1 year after I started leasing the car and I know now that my passenger was at risk the whole time, during and after their warranty expired. I have looked into some forum and realized other people had the same issues and were told the same thing at first (that the passenger wasn't seating right or light weight etc. . ) when in fact their sensor was/is defective.
