Emission warning light and verified by on star diagnostic. Carried to rick hendricksn gm dealer in buford GA. For a 7 day diagnostic and repair. I also could smell gasoline when the car was running and smell gasoline inside my garage when the car was parked. . Very strong odor. Dealership found it was a evap system leak. Removed and replaced the filler neck . My vehicle had 650 miles on it when I started getting warning notices that would come and go.

The turbocharger gave code p0299 then more extensive look when you try to increase speed the turbo will not boost to allow you to go. 40-45 miles is the highest you can go . Dealership said there we complaints and recalls. The recalls are for 2017 and 2018 chevy Trax. 2019 having the same issue. .

While driving on the interstate vehicle begin to surge and lag with a check engine light appearing. Vehicle never became disabled but after reading it sounds like this a very known issue with Trax’s. Chevy app stated it was the emissions control system which is most common for purge valve failure. Gm needs to issue a recall as the purges valve in every Trax is defective just like the did with earlier models.

Every winter because of the cold weather the tube for the turbo cracks and causes performance problems such as lack of throttle, sluggishness, limp mode activates. In limp mode the vehicle will only go about 10 miles per hour. This has happened on multiple occasions. In the warmer weather this problem does not arise. It is only in the winter time because the particular tube is made from plastic which breaks in cold weather. Q.

My check engine light went on and stayed on while I was driving. I called blaise alexander, altoona, PA. Reported and scheduled a checkup on Dec. 11. I drove to the garage, arriving at 10am. And noticed a smell of fire and saw smoke billowing out around the hood of the car. I ran into service area and told them the car must be on fire. They called the altoona fire dept. The police gave me a number, which I gave state farm insurance. I drove approximately 23 miles along rt I 99 to reach the garage. Apparently there is a history of 2024 and 2025 Trax models having fires in the engine. Possibly associated with the fuel system.

Made first report after car was at shop over 60 days case# 1168 5928 nhsa motor and screen made report to gm customer service 1-800-222-1020 case # 78472987 on 10-3-2025 received 2024 chevy Trax back from ozark Chevrolet on about 9-21-2025 from motor being replaced on 9-22-25 check engine light came on took to dealership they said it was a quart low on transmission oil from them replacing motor the next evening check engine light came back on car started ticking at 45 mph and reduced power notification came on pulled over checked for leaks was none proceeded another mile and car quit running called ozark Chevrolet they said have it towed to them on 10-6-2025 ozark Chevrolet called said it blowed another motor the same way the 1st motor blowed they said it would take 7-10 days for motor to be in motor #1 blowed at 19,200 miles. . Motor #2 blowed with less than 200 miles on it.

I just purchased this vehicle. I found that the fuel filler neck has a leak which is a fire risk. I was initially promised that the part would be replaced in a week, but recently found that the part is back ordered because this is a prevalent issue with 2025 models. At the dealer I was mislead into thinking this isn’t a big issue when it is, I was told I could continue to drive the vehicle with minimal risk but gas has been leaking in my grass and causing it to change colors as well as paying more for gas despite being sold on great gas mileage. To make matters worse worse the vehicle is starting to sputter and has less than 2k miles. I feel that this should be a national recall before someone gets hurt. Chevy Trax are affordable for tons of people if all of us are in combustible vehicles the environment is bound to take a hit. Please help.

Bought my car June 3 2025. On 8-10-2025 my check engine light came on. My chevy app was showing evap issue. Dealer stated that the code was not active and they test for leaks and could not find any. Reset light. On 9-6-2025 check engine light on again. Same deal. 9-9 dealer states not current again but there is a TSB to replace the fuel filler neck, 3 weeks to get the part.

1. I bought the vehicle on August 2, 2025. The fuel injector failed less than a week later from my purchase date. One month later the dealership replaced the fuel injector. Along with a pipe, seal, gasket, and retainer. 2. My safety was put at risk as I was driving on a highway and as soon as I was descending an overpass, I felt a loss of power as if the vehicle down shifted on its own. Luckily, I was still able to drive it, and it didn't stall. 3. Yes, the dealership ran their diagnostic test. 4. Same, response as question 3. 5. Yes the check engine light appeared. Appeared sometime around one week later.

When putting shell premium gas I noticed my cars rmps is way lower than usually and my acceleration is a lot slower/delayed I never had this problem when I put regular and midgrade (plus) gas furthermore I noticed I got a weird b3935 error check code but I don’t think that’s related to the gas though.

Unknown I’ve had my car for 11 months. When I first got the car I got it fully inspected and there were minor issues like tires and brakes. However, now the ac compressor is completely damaged and there may be contamination in my lines. This is not an owner issue. I take really good care of my car. I just don’t know how this could’ve happened if this wasn’t a manufacturer related issue.

Canister purge valve.

Turbo charger/super charger is not following sufficient air. The vehicle does not excelerate, and slowed down in the middle of traffic. I had to turn the car off for 15 minuetes. Before I could drive home. Check engine light continues to disappear and reappear for the last 60 days. Diagnostic code p0299. GMC will not cover the cost under special coverage, known issues with 2017-2018 which GMC has special coverage.

It wouldn't pass smog due to an air/fuel intake. Coded every time. This caused it to go into " low engine power" after the mechanic looked at it, he said the oil had gotten into the manifold, the tubes and the turbo which apparently is a design flaw, and now my turbo is on its last leg. Which is going to cost thousands. I am told it will do the same thing after a a year or so and will have to repeat this process. I can't pass smog. There is too much air coming out, and you can't block the airflow. So basically, I will have to replace the turbo, and the manifold, we already put in an oil tank to divert it. If I had known this was going to happen, I wouldn't have purchased this vehicle. I need to travel and now I do not feel safe in this car. This issue should be on the recall list to repair for those unsuspecting customers. I am in the hole for the repairs that need to be done currently as well as 3 more years of paying this off.

I was forced to sell my Jeep and buy a chevy Trax at friendly Chevrolet back in 2020 because supposdely there was a pandemic and the economy shut down. It has been giving me lots of problems. I have taken it to friendly Chevrolet, young Chevrolet and lakeside Chevrolet several times since 2020 and they always say: leave it here, we cannot loan you a car, it will take 5-7 days to repair it. It jerks when I drive it, every time I get gas, the car doesn't start unless I push the speed pedal and drive. The worst and recent incident was 2 weeks ago when I was driving in [xxx] , and the car turned off completely as if they had turned off the light of your house, it blacked out. I stayed on the road and I could see my death nearby. The cars that were driving behind me almost killed me and a multiple fatality accident is almost caused. Fortunately, I'm fine and the others are fine because they managed to slow down their speed in time or Dodge me to avoid a wreck. I took my car to lakeside Chevrolet to get it serviced and this is what the advisor told it will take 5-7 days to get your car only diagnosed and it will cost you more than $200 for this step. I begged for a car loaner and he said that the owner of the dealership doesn't have money to give me one. He also mentioned that because the pandemic, he had to spend money from his savings to get his business-dealership going. My car is still there and they called me last Friday to tell me that they cannot fix my car because global company is out of miles range. They told me that is was safe to drive my car to friendly Chevrolet and take it there to get it fixed. I called friendly Chevrolet and they said they cannot bring my car to them because they do not pay for towing. I turned on the vehicle and the check engine light came on blinking* for the first time. The traction control light also came on after a few minutes of driving. About a minute later, the vehicle began to slow from 40 to a near-complete stop in the middle of a busy road. No blinking lights or alerts. I pulled the vehicle into a parking lot and parked. The vehicle began shaking slightly. I turned off the vehicle for about 15 minutes or so and was able to drive back home with the check engine light still on. I called to have the vehicle towed to a dealership.

My check engine light came on after filling up with gas, after checking the purge valve cantilever was bad, I bought it and had licensed mechanic who owns his business replace it. Once again the check engine might came on. The error was cylinder 4 miss , I was told either the spark plug or coil was bad. My mechanic said ger coil and if that's not it he would replace spark plugs. I purchased the coil for a four cylinder engine because that's the only way they come. My mechanic took off the part which was broke and upon taking it out. He saw water in the coil holder and told me this was bad. He suggested I look up recalls on my vehicle upon which I found e recall on the puge valve along with a recall on the coil system which described the same problem of water leaking into the engine. After call recall department I was told they would cover the purge valve repair but there was no recall attached to my VIN on other problem which should be. I bought the car with 28000 miles on it and have less than 44000 on it now. It should be covered under thus recall I have done all maintenance required and don't put many miles on it. I am a retired individual living on a budgeted income and thus problem should be covered under recall as it is the same problem as others have had. My.

Fuel rail system - the check engine light came on after only three days/156 miles! onstar was contacted and a diagnostic was run indicating "the engine and transmission system is not performing as expected. An issue has been detected in the fuel management system used to maintain control and monitor fuel consumption. " I took the vehicle back to the dealership and was advised that the fuel rail system needed to be replaced but the part(s) are not available and there is no projected date of arrival. Note: the vehicle has been sitting at the service center since December 28, 2024 awaiting necessary repairs.

On 11/25/24 while my daughter was driving my 2021 Trax all of a sudden the engine light came on and my car lost power while lots of smoke began coming out of the exhaust pipe the car started to shake she thankfully made it to the dealership service department where the codes showed a fuel trim problem once that problem was serviced my daughter picked the car up drove my car home and the very next day my Trax engine light came on again and once again it lost power my daughter went back to the dealership service department where the codes showed aturbocharger problem. I have 33,440 miles on my 2021 Trax and purchased it last year from the dealership. My car is still there.

Fuel injection system failure. Dealer confirmed code being seen was related to fuel injectors. Check engine light illuminated on Nov. 22, 2024, which is less than 2 weeks into my ownership of the vehicle. Vehicle is still in the shop for repairs.

The indicator for the vehicle overheating illuminated as I checked. I noticed that the engine coolant was low so I brought a bottle to top it off however, I noticed once parking in front of my home that I had a puddle of the fluid on the ground.

The car only have 4700 milles and the check engine light comes, I use a obd2 reader and the code p146d appear. Checking this code it’s associated to a old recall in others cars including the chevy Trax years 2020 and up n232395300 bulletin I would like Chevrolet take responsibility for this recall it’s old and continue using parts with problems.

My engine light is on due to evaporative emissions (evap) leak detection pump. This has been an issue in the Chevrolet Trax previously and it is currently effecting my vehicle.

Turbo charger on all small engine for chevy have been giving people a lot of headaches during the winter months. Chevy is aware thar their turbo chargers are affected by cold weather but still put the turbo into new vehicles. I have fixed my turbocharger three times on my 2017 Trax with no success.

Hello so recently just after an oil change my cars check engine came on. I check with the app, it stated both a stabli-track issue and an emission. Which those 2 things don't connect in any way I know, they are 2 different systems. Then I went to a local auto parts store, autozone. We check the engine code and it was an emissions issue. It was my vapor canister purge valve malfunction. The other thing that this issue cause a rough start when you 1st the car in the morning. That sometimes it causes the stabli-track alert on the dashboard to come on, for a couple of moments. The reason im contacting you about this. Is because that the app is telling the customer me that there is 2 issues that specific issue comes on and that if no fix right away. The rough start up will cause the stabli track alert to come on. Even though it is not a stabli-track issue.

Vehicle hesitates upon accelerating. Have had it at dealership/ mechanics 4 times for the same problem without a solution. Has created numerous unsafe situations when it does not accelerate as expected when pulling out in traffic.

The check engine light came on showing codes p 146 b,d,e,f the dealership looked at the car and said the purge pump needs replaced and ordered a part that is on back order and won’t be delivered in an undetermined date. We have now lost a considerable amount of gas mileage and the dealership it may be the fuel pump. They say if it is it won’t be covered by warranty. They have said the car is safe to drive on the other issue.

The evap purge pump system failure: it is available for inspection upon request. Pump recirculates engine unburned gasoline fumes to be re-burned by engine. Safety/risk - unburned fumes. Yes, on 07/23/23, a loud explosion was heard coming from underneath the vehicle and said problem was then confirmed by an auto part store by inspecting for a diagnostic code. On 08/01/23 the problem was confirmed by ingersoll auto danbury, CT. 06810; still awaiting for evap-purge-pump-part to be received by the above dealership for future repair (repair part not received as of 08/30/23) still driving vehicle until repair. After the pump failure, the dashboard engine light appeared.

While driving the vehicle started to smoke under the hood. Once the engine cooled off, I opened the hood. There was coolant sprayed all over the engine. I had the vehicle towed to a mechanic and was told the hose that connects to the fan had cracked off because the plastic piece used by chevy isn’t robust. Even after repairs were made for the issue, a month later the same plastic piece could not hold up. Over 700$ put into this issue.

Upon acceleration above 40 mph, the car starts studdering with little power on acceleration. Releasing and pressing the accelerator until it starts picking up speed. This behavior worsened as the day went on. I had to put my emergency flashers on, while entering the highway ramp. Then it will pick up speed, just not rapidly as normal behavior on the accelerator. The stabletrax light came on, the engine light, tread lights. Then it drives normal until the next time.

I have already said what happened and when and outcome it for some reason kicked it out made me start over. I'm attaching a report. I previously last month reported this vehicle.

Car lost power and ran rough to the point of shaking even after dealer repairs were attempted and reported as finished.

I'd it's a 2018 Chevrolet grad lt for almost two years. My engine light been cutting off and on since 5 months since I'd the vehicle. Now my stabilitrak light come off and on with showing the hazard light on the dashboard. I just want to be safe if the vehicle has problems with suspension issues to check out.

I have recently heard what could best be described as a squealing sound. I could also smell fuel inside the vehicle while driving. I thought it was oil that had leaked onto the serpentine belt and had it replaced but the noise continued. Listening closer I realized it was coming from the area around the intake manifold. Searching online I found several youtube videos and comments from people mentioning loose spark plugs caused their issue. Checking mine I found that two of the four spark plugs were loose enough to not require a wrench to remove them. Tightening them eliminated the noise. I have owned this vehicle since it was brand new and have never asked a mechanic to check or replace spark plugs, nor have I done it myself. I did recently replace the intake manifold, which required removing and reinstalling the ignition coil. I feel like loose spark plugs represent a fire hazard as it allow the fuel to blow past the cylinders and into the engine compartment.
