It’s either my ball joints or the suspension or the arms. But they have a recall of the same exact issues I’m having but my car isnt part of the recalled list. But I am having the same issues and I’m at 109k miles. And I wasn’t in an accident. It actually started happening after I had my car in the shop to replace my turbo. Since ive gotten it back it sounds and drives horribly and from what I’m hearing its my ball joints or suspension or arms to that.

Failure Date: 10/09/2024

The contact stated that while driving and making turns, the steering wheel had to be turned to the intended direction completely for the vehicle to turn as needed. The contact also stated that while driving and depressing the brake pedal to come to a complete stop, the vehicle failed to respond as intended, causing the braking distance to be extended. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the front passenger's side lower control arm had failed due to defective factory assembly. The dealer replaced the lower control arm, and the vehicle was repaired. Additionally, the contact stated that the a/c system was inoperable, and the infotainment system screen was significantly hot and turned off intermittently while driving. 7 Suspension problem of the 2020 Chevrolet Trax

Failure Date: 05/30/2024

The service stabilitrak and service powersteering will come up. Have had vehicle hooked up to computer multiple times no codes. The vehicle would not drive. The vehicle has started shaking. The engine light comes on. There is 30k miles on the vehicle. I bought this 3 months ago to have a safe vehicle. My spouse and I are disabled and we do not feel secure. I googled and it says probably a computer error from factory. I'd appreciate if I can get my vehicle recalled & fixed. Thank you.

8 Suspension problem of the 2018 Chevrolet Trax

Failure Date: 03/31/2024

I was driving between 35 and 45 mph and ran over a manhole cover. The rear of my vehicle began to fishtail. I pulled into a gas station and upon attempting to leave my vehicle failed to drive forward. The car was still on but would not move forward. I had it towed by flatbed to the local chevy dealership where it was determined that the rear suspension swing bar has separated at the weld. If I were traveling at a higher rate of speed on the highway this could have been deadly. The current recall for this problem only mentions the front control arm but for the same issue. My car has been inspected by my insurance and the incident does not match the damage and I'm fighting to not have my vehicle considered totalled. There were no other warning signs or issues prior to this.

10 Suspension problem of the 2017 Chevrolet Trax

Failure Date: 09/13/2023

I purchased this 2017 Chevrolet Trax in Dec 2020 with 36748 miles on it. In I believe 2022 I had to have the front driver side tire rode replaced as it was broken at just a little over 50,000 miles on it. Now at 73,027 miles I had to have both sway bars links replaced as they both were broken as well. Upon further inspection from dealership the also found the left front suspension strut needs replacing. I heard noises from front end when turning with popping and creaking as turning. Now after replacing sway bars I have more popping and creaking coming from front end but not just when turning now it's most of the time now and the steering is pulling at different times. It does not feel safe to drive this vehicle anymore. No light came on dash to warn of any issues at all. I have paid for most repairs on the vehicle, but these costs are adding up more and more.

11 Suspension problem of the 2020 Chevrolet Trax

Failure Date: 09/10/2023

I'm contacting NHTSA to make a recall request on chevys 2020 Trax . Less than 3 years old and has 23,300 miles , the chevy Trax needed both control arms, both side tie rod ends , 2 alignments. I'm going to say to NHTSA I think chevy didn't manufacture the 2020 Trax with strong enough front suspension and steering parts. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? the both front bottom control arms . I asked the ourisman dealership to give them to me after the repair was paid they didn't give . And the ourisman dealership said it was only one bad inner tie rod end but both where bad . I had the tie rod ends replaced at independent service center and they kept and gave me the old bad tie rod ends. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? if these parts broke off during driving would be a deadly crash of multiple vehicles especially on a interstate. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? yes by to ourisman dealerships and one independent service center. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? by the chevy dealerships but they didn't give me the parts after the repair but I did ask for the parts. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? no, didn't.

12 Suspension problem of the 2021 Chevrolet Trax

It appears the rear axle separated from the vehicle. This appears to prevented braking ability. My conclusion is from skid marks at the crash scene. Also front wheels disengaged. I have photos.

13 Suspension problem of the 2018 Chevrolet Trax

Failure Date: 01/20/2023

I'd it's a 2018 Chevrolet grad lt for almost two years. My engine light been cutting off and on since 5 months since I'd the vehicle. Now my stabilitrak light come off and on with showing the hazard light on the dashboard. I just want to be safe if the vehicle has problems with suspension issues to check out.

14 Suspension problem of the 2020 Chevrolet Trax

Failure Date: 01/19/2023

This is the 5th time my car has broken down with this problem, the brakes lock up on the highway and the "stabilitrak" service light comes on. (suspension) this time there was a gasoline tanker right behind me. If this man hadn't been such an experienced tanker driver, I would now be a bloody spot on the highway, my kids would be without their mom, my husband widowed and my grandchildren would have to be happy just hearing stories about me. I would be in the local grave yard, six feet under. So far, I have had a new fuse block, master cylinder, coil pack with plugs, abs module, pressure valve and a new brake switch. That was as of 2 weeks ago, my car broke down again last night, as reported above. My car, which I just made a payment of $635. 00, and is just now at 51,000 miles is less than 3 years old. I am truly afraid to drive it, I don't know who to contact at Chevrolet or GMC there has to be some kind of recourse or are they not able to fix the brakes on a car???.

15 Suspension problem of the 2020 Chevrolet Trax

Failure Date: 01/12/2023

This is the either 5th or 6th complaint for this vehicle. I am making after almost 6 months, most of which my car has been in the dealership. The brakes locked up in the parking lot at my bank, I noticed the signs that it was about to lock up and pulled into the parking lot before it threw a code. I was in fact on the phone with the dealership when it happened. They sent their tow truck and as of today the car has now been in their possession for 3 weeks. I got a call from the dealership telling me they are replacing the brake booster. This car now has over 2,700. 00 in new parts, this doesn't count the labor cost. This includes, coil pack, plugs, master cylinder, fuse box, abs module and related pressure valve and brake switch. The manager said they are running out of ideas and parts to replace. When I asked him what happens if this still doesn't fix it, he said that that situation was to unheard of to consider. I pointed out that if the dealership can't find the problem then GMC needs to step up because I still have 3 years left to pay for this car and that eventually there either have already been others who've died or there will be in the future, because unless this car is defective, it can't be the only one like this. I wonder how many people have died from this and it just wasn't caught that this problem caused it. I also explained that my next step would be to find a lawyer.

16 Suspension problem of the 2018 Chevrolet Trax

Failure Date: 01/01/2023

The steering of the vehicle is very tight and it doesn't spring back when turning the wheel on its own like most vehicles do . You have to manually bring your steering wheel back for the wheels to turn straight again. . And this isn't normal by any means . . . Also, the turbocharger in my vehicle isnt working correctly and is causing my check engine light to be on even after engine codes have issues have been repaired. I've changed air filters. . I've changed mass air flow sensors. . I've changed the intake manifold and the engine light comes back on after accelerating. . The engine code that keeps coming back on and returning is p0299. . This is an issue with the turbo boost. . And this is also something that has been recalled for other model chevy lf the chevy Trax. . My vehicle issues are recalls that are being done on other chevy Trax but they're not being recalled for my model of the chevy Trax as obvious that these recall issues pertain to my vehicle as well. . I know there are recalls on the chevy Trax which are having these exact issues except my car isn't listed on the recall list. . And without a doubt it should be because these issues I'm having go hand and hand with other chevy Trax models that are receiving recalls for these exact same issues.

17 Suspension problem of the 2020 Chevrolet Trax

Failure Date: 12/29/2022

This is the second complaint I have filed, but it is the 3rd time my car has been at the dealership for the same thing. The brakes lock up without warning and the traction control error light and stabilitrak error light come on. This time the transmission didn't go into limp mode it just shut down. The 1st repair, dealership told me that it was a corroded fuse block. I paid to repair that. The day the car was released back to me, it broke down, required towing 3 miles after I left the dealership. I towed it back. They said they couldn't find problem, I told them to drive exact same route, they did, it locked up again. Mechanic then said the master cylinder was binding up on the inside and it was replaced. Six weeks later it failed the same way again, had it towed. Dealership said it was the abs module and a valve, replaced those. They put a rush on it as it was right before christmas, two days after christmas it broke down again. It is currently at the dealership, and I was told that they can't figure out what's wrong with it????? each time it has locked up, I have been in traffic, once doing 70 mph highway, once doing 60 mph highway I managed to pull off but then blocked an on ramp to a bridge on a highway, once going uphill in town at 35 mph. Each time I narrowly missed hitting other people and once almost got run over by a gasoline tanker. In any of these events I could have either died or killed someone else. Each time there was no warning at all, no lights, noises or anything. Even if I get my car back, I will be terrified to drive it. My husband said, and I quote, "I will bleed through my eyes before I buy another chevy" end quote. My local dealership is doing everything they can, but I am getting frustrated, because sometimes they have a loaner car and sometimes they don't. I work two jobs, since my husband got sick with covid-19 last year and spent 10 days on a ventilator. He can't work like he used to, so I am picking up the slack, please help us.

21 Suspension problem of the 2019 Chevrolet Trax

Failure Date: 06/15/2021

We purchased the vehicle June 1, 2021. We started hearing a popping noise when being driven. Sometimes it was often and sometimes every now and then. The Trax is in the shop as of now. We were told there was a crack in the frame. They said they would weld the area, but it would take time. Car had to be taken apart piece by piece. I asked them what would cause the problem. I was told it was when the car was turned sharply. I have talked to several people and I was told that did not sound right. A sharp turn should not make the frame crack. I wanted the frame changed. They said they would weld it and it supposedly be good as new. I do not feel comfortable driving a vehicle with a welded frame. I think it is a safety risk for me or anyone else to drive it. This our only car we have. They weren't even going to give me a loaner car to use until I made some calls and finally got one. They car is a 2019 and has less than 20,000 miles on it. I don't think this problem should have happened on a car this new.

As well as when you stop on a hill the car rolls back like driving a standard making it dangerous for anything behind you. Person animal item. Hill assist does not work. Maher Chevrolet of st. Petersburg FL is refusing to fix a recalled item. They fixed the left control arm under warrantee in 2019. I brought it back the next day still hearing a noise and they said only the right side was bad and I was hearing a seat noise. I took their word for it although the noise never went away. Now 3 1/2 years and 10k miles later tire kingdom noticed that the left control arm was coming apart and was a safety problem. Maher said since they did one side the other side is no longer covered under warrantee and the would have to charge to fix it and wanted $150 just for a tech to look at it and tell me if that was the problem. Tire kingdom couldn't help seeing the problem doing an oil change and gave me the info about the recall to contact Chevrolet about. My car has been sitting in my driveway for 2 weeks now waiting to see if a new or special recall can be issued. Mileage now is just under 20k. Next step will be the local news channel.
