Brake rotors have been turned 5 times on a 2005 chevy Uplander and need to be turned again. Steering column needs to be rebuilt from the constant vibration caused by the warped brake rotors. Have talked to several people who own Uplanders, who have experienced the same problems. Have read numerous complaints on-line concerning the same problem. Can not get a response from gm concerning the issue. Needs to be a recall before someone gets hurt.
Brake rotors warp on regular basis. 4 times in 20,000 miles (2 years). Unless replaced van stops with difficulty and could result in crash.
The brakes, when applied at highway speeds, will cause the front-end of the vehicle, including the steering wheel to shake violently. The dealer told me the rotors were warped and needed to be turned. The rotors have been turned on two separate occasions in less than a year at my own expense. I have been told by the service manager it is a recurrent problem - probably due to a bad batch of rotors. It is a serious safety issue since it occurs at high speeds and at times when proper braking is critical.
