The contact owns a 1999 Chevrolet Venture. The contact stated that the passenger sliding door would open involuntarily. He had to pull over, turn off the vehicle, open and close the door and lock it in order to keep it closed. The contact previously had the door repaired according to recalls 01v067000 & 01v264000 (latches/locks/linkages:doors:latch) but the dealer refused to repair it again. The contact called the manufacturer who stated that he would had to pay for a diagnostic test. The vehicle had not been repaired at the time of the complaint. The current and failure mileages were approximately 80,000.
Recall 01v067000 concerning power sliding doors. Consumer took vehicle to the dealer to have recall repairs performed. Since then the sliding doors did not work intermittently. Currently, dealer wanted to charge consumer $440. 00 to repair what should have been done correctly the first time. Consumer then called the manufacturer for assistance. Manufacturer refused assistance because the vehicle had 133, 000 miles, and that the problem was wear and tear. Consumer was very upset and felt that if the work was done correctly the first time this would not have happened.
The latch on our power sliding door is not latching. I was advised that this problem has already been fixed, but the same problem that the recall was sent out for is what the latch is doing again. The door has opened up on us when we was driving on the road. We shut the power off to the door, locked the door and do not allow any one of the kids to use the door.

Parts for recall 01v26400 and 01v06700 repairs oncerning actuator for power sliding doors was not available.
Passenger sliding door opens intermittently. Hood latch opened, and the hood flew and broke/spattering the glass.
While in motion manual sliding door opened without warning. Dealer has tried to repair vehicle.
When the sliding door is placed in locked position the door will not open from either inside or outside of the vehicle. Consumer has contacted the dealer, dealer unable to determine the cause of the problem. Please provide any further details.
Sliding door lock does not stay open on hilly surfaces, resulting in slamming of the door.
Passenger side rear sliding door will close, but will not latch from the outside or the inside. Dealer installed a sliding door latch actuator.
