Five problems related to air conditioner have been reported for the 1999 Chevrolet Venture. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Vehicle side sliding door does not stay shut while driving. The dealership had been contacted on three separate occasions. The service dealer said that it was okay. The consumer was not notified that the door was under recall. The dealer claimed they performed recall#01v26400. The a/c had an odor at times, the dealer cleaned debris from the a/c drain. The cushion was coming apart.
While air conditioner was on there was a bad odor insight of vehicle. Took it to dealer ,they stated that air conditioner needed to be cleaned. After cleaning out air conditioner, problem still occurred.
Van fogs up all windows which makes it impossible for the driver to see out. Defrost takes it off the windshield, mostly, but all other windows stay fogged over. Air conditioner did not work correctly when van was purchsed, but the dealership claimed it did. I believe the air conditioner/defrost is all related. As such, the van has had a problem since the purchse date. The dealer was unable to duplicate the problem-had it in for service 8+ times. Ed bozarth Chevrolet refuses to see the van for this problem.
A/c is not cooling adequatley. Yh.
Consumer was informed that the air compressor was blown and needed to be replaced along with two other parts, consumer requested assistance from manufacturer due to vehicle being under three years old, however manufacturer declined the request stating because of the age and mileage on vehicle.
