1 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 08/18/2006

The gas gauge on the chevy ventura does not work and this is a consistent problem with the ventura line. Sometimes as little as 15,000 miles and the gas gauge either stays on full ( no matter how many miles you drive) or it stays on empty. Either way, it is a problem that hundreds of buyers have experienced.

2 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 01/16/2006

The contact owns a 2000 Chevrolet Venture. The rear passenger seat belt buckle would not unlock. The passenger was locked in the rear seat belt due to the latch failure. The fire department had to cut the seat belt webbing to release the passenger. The fuel gauge was reading incorrectly. Regardless of the amount of fuel in the vehicle the gauge continuously was reading incorrectly as if the fuel level was full. The current and failure mileage were 132,553.

3 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 09/10/2004

Fuel gauge erratic and does not accurately reflect amount of fuel in tank. Low fuel light comes on regardless of fuel level in tank.

4 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

The gas gauge is not working properly. It will tell incorrect fuel level, usually either completely full or say flat on empty even though we know for a fact that there is gas in it.

5 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 02/14/2004

At start of van, the fuel gage moves back and forth on the gage. It registers 0 gallons when there is fuel in the tank. This is on a vechile that is <4 years old. The dealer states that he has seen this problem before in the chevy Venture van with low mileage. It will cost >$800 to fix since the wareenty has exired. I will never buy a gm vehicle again!.

6 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 11/06/2003

Gas guage does not register unless the tank is totally full, then it just drops down to empty whenever it wants. I feel that this is a safety hazard due to ending up with an empty gas tank at any time. The only thing that I can do is try to keep track of my miles. This has also happened to a friend of ours whom also owns the same brand of van.

7 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 04/10/2003

Automatic transmission won't go into 2nd or 3rd gears. Windshield wipers won't go back into park. Gas tank stop registering and cross bars on window motor were broken.
