While driving at 35 mph another vehicle collided with consumer's vehicle on the front passenger's side. The consumer's child was seated in a child seat that was built into the vehicle. The five point harness that was restraining the child became undone. Four persons were in the vehicle at the time of the collision, and three sustained minor injuries. 2003 Chevrolet Venture was involved in a collision with another vehicle. During the collision the built in child seat five point harness became unbuckled. Four people were in the vehicle at the time of the collision. One of the passengers was a child that was seated in the built in child seat. The four passengers sustained minor injuries.
The mechanism used to tighten and loosen the integrated child seat harness strap was too accessible to the toddlers who were able to access the device and tighten/loosen the straps. It nearly caused serious injuries to the children, but was noticed in time to prevent it.

Child was able to unlatch chest clip to car seat without pushing the two clips together. The consumer owned a 2000 Chevrolet Venture with a built in car seat and recently purchased a 2003 Chevrolet Venture which also had a built in car seat and both vehicles had the same problem.
