Three problems related to vehicle speed control have been reported for the 2003 Chevrolet Venture. The most recently reported issues are listed below. Please also check out the statistics and reliability analysis of the 2003 Chevrolet Venture based on all problems reported for the 2003 Venture.
The engine rpm surges without pushing the gas. The engine will gradually propel the vehicle to around 50-60 mph with no mechanical movement of the gas pedal. This happens about every day or two. Have to put the car in neutral or firmly press the brakes to get the velocity down. The car is in motion and stationary when this happens. It happens sporadically. Changing all types of parts and still no resolution. I also see alot of the same issues on line with other owners of this vehicle.
The contact owns a 2003 Chevrolet Venture. The contact was traveling 40 mph when the vehicle accelerated after the accelerator pedal was no longer being depressed. The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic. The manufacturer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 106,600 and the current mileage was 107,000.
Engine raced up to 70 mph, and consumer had to hold the brake pedal down to stop the engine from racing. Dealer was not able to resolve the problem.
