We have been smelling gasoline fumes in and outside our van. Sometimes it is very potent and other times faint. When we walk into our garage, we can smell it also. It occurs often when making a left-hand turn. When we inspect it, we can't find any leak. We smell this from a half tank to empty.

2 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem

The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Venture. The contact stated that while refueling, fuel sprayed from the filler neck valve. The vehicle was towed to a private mechanic, who stated that the fuel tank had failed. The contact was also informed by the dealer that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 07e021000 (fuel system, other). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000.
