Hybrid Propulsion System problem #1

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Volt. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 35 mph, the vehicle began to a sound like an over revved engine while the accelerator pedal was depressed. The vehicle would not move while the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle slowly decelerated. The contact stopped the vehicle and would have to wait for the failure to stop, then the contact was able to drive normally. The failure recurred over a dozen times at unknown speeds and a warning message would be displayed stating "propulsion power reduced". The vehicle was taken to a dealer several times where the failure was unable to be recreated or diagnosed. The vehicle has not been repaired. The contact found NHTSA campaign number: 18v397000 (hybrid propulsion system), however, the vehicle was not included in the campaign. The manufacturer was notified and a case was opened. The failure mileage unknown.

Hybrid Propulsion System problem #2

2014 Chevrolet Volt. Consumer writes in regards to electric drive malfunction. The consumer received two error messages on the dashboard that read propulsion power is reduced and engine not available, service soon. The vehicle stalled within minutes. The consumer tried to re-start the vehicle, but it stalled again within seconds.
