Wiring problems of the 2015 Chevrolet Volt

Two problems related to wiring have been reported for the 2015 Chevrolet Volt. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2020

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Volt. The contact stated that the air bags warning light activated intermittently while accelerating or during hard braking conditions. The vehicle was taken to bergstrom Chevrolet of middleton (3605 tribeca dr # 101, middleton, WI 53562, (800) 353-1150) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the seat belt pretensioner needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired twice. The vehicle was taken back to bergstrom Chevrolet of middleton, where it was diagnosed with needing the wiring harness to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

2 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 10/30/2017

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Volt. The contact stated that the check engine indicator illuminated at various times. The vehicle was taken to ourisman Chevrolet of bowie (16610 governor bridge rd, bowie, MD 20716 (301) 262-7600) where it was diagnosed with a wiring harness malfunction and the wiring harness connectors had shorted out due to missing protection. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred while leaving the dealer. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist. The failure mileage was approximately 57,000.
