The smell of gasoline is noticed in the interior of the vehicle after starting. The odor increases as the vehicle is driven and warms up. I have to open the windows in an attempt to dissipate the smell since bringing in outside air through the blower seems to make it worse. It has really gotten bad in the last two months.
In 2011, I purchased a new Chrysler 200s. The list price was $27, 835. In 2015, the heat in my vehicle stopped working and only blew out cold air. I was told by the chrylser mechanic that I needed to replace the heating core. I went to lloyd's automotive and paid $300 for a heating flush as lloyd's informed me that a car that is only 4 years old should not have issues with the heating core. Later in 2015 my heat went out again. I took my car back to lloyd's auto and was informed that I should have the heating core replaced. The parts were on back order because other owners of this car were also having issues with the heating core. I did some research online and found that this was accurate but Chrysler had not ordered a recall. Owners of this car were having to have the heating core replaced. I reside in minnesota where the temperature drops below zero. I could not get my car repaired. This limited my social outings as I have a child and could not have him driving around in a cold car. I feel that Chrysler should recall this vehicle to fix the heating core.
We purchased this car from someone else for our 17 year old and we have had in the shop for the same noise 3 times and they can't find out what is wrong with it but there is a clunking noise in front end after car has been driven for at least 30 mins and gotten hot. I am very concerned about this and have read where this is a big complaint among owners of the same make, I don't wont to wake up one morning and something has happened to my child because they cant duplicate the issue!!!!.
Drive side handle controls counsel poor plastic torn/unglued. As well as head liner from back seats on both sides. Also hood paint raising up from head lights led. On both sides. The paint is raised with visible damage.
The Chrysler 200 engine will stall when coming to a stop or already stopped. The engine fades slowly away and then completely turns itself off. This entire engine failing process lasts for approximately 7 seconds. This engine failure pose a significant safety risk and something needs to be done Chrysler dealership are aware of this issue, but unfortunately don't have an answer for a resolution of it. This issue needs to be looked at much closer and in-depth, since further delays could cause accidents and death. I plead that Chrysler takes responsibility for this problem and commence a recall program of the Chrysler 200 model. I've personally experienced the engine failing 4 times already. I brought it into the Chrysler dealership and have them take a look at it. I had to let the car sit at their shop for 2 days and they did not offer/give a free rental car for me. This car is under 1 year old. Prior to Chrysler I only owned foreign cars because of the perceived notion that american made cars are not reliable. I decided to give it a chance and wanted to buy american, so I got the Chrysler 200. So far that decision has turned out to be a big mistake (unless Chrysler offers a resolution to this problem). I don't want to lose faith in the american car company and hope that they do the right thing.
Vehicle engine shuts down at stops such as stop signs, red lights etc. Computer shows no incidents. This has happened over a half a dozen times and is a dangerous situation.
