Car delivered and purchased from mcclusky Chevrolet, smithj@online. Cars, cincinnati, OH to farragut, TN on 02/25/2020 in excellent driveability condition. Car perfomance was excellent, driven daily until 03/03/2020 and always returned to home garage. When started the morning of 03/04/2020, the engine immediately raced to 4000 rpm in neutral. Tapping the brake lowered the idle to 1200 rpm, not the normal 850 (approximate). I backed the out of the garage uphill into the street. When engaged in drive the moment of starting acceleration the car gently accelerate itself with my foot off of the accelerator to about 40 mph in 1/4 mile. Tapping the brake stopped the acceleration and the car throttle returned to about 1200 rpm. After braking to a stop, I started to drive around the block and the car again accelerated by itself. With multiple brakes taps, I returned the car into the drive way. The next day, after starting the engine, the rpm again raced to 4000. Tapping the brake returned the rpm to 1200, similar to a cruise control return. In all cases the cruise control was not turned on and cycling the cruise button on and off had no effect. Cruise control mechanism maybe or maybe not be involved. I did an accutron code read and no codes returned. No attempt to try to fix or repair the problem was made. Car needs to be analyzed by NHTSA, not just repaired. It is hazardous. I used to teach physics and have performed most major car repairs since 1960. I wish to keep this Chrysler 200 s retractable convertible. It will stay in my driveway until analyzed by NHTSA.
Takata recall , catalytic converter recall, car airbag deflated, I called my dealer, bud's Chrysler Dodge. I could get a loaner car for the days they needed this repairs because I did not buy my car there. I need a replacement vehicle for 2 days because I travel outside the area with my job all the time. The car has been putting out some unwanted fumes and exhaust emissions at certain times as well.
I purchased the car in 2014. I have replaced the gas cap twice, the seal behind the gas cap and the gas light stays on. The engine light comes on often and the car runs rough, cutting out and jerking. It has done this since I bought it.
My vehicle just leaked all the oil completely. I know a significant oil leak checked the oil and their was absolutely nothing. I sent it in for repairs and it happened to be a broken oil cooler. My big concerns is if the oil wasn't cooling right/transferring I wonder what effect sit had on my engine. For a three year old vehicle that's a huge and sad defect.
Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Chrysler 200 touring. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 10 mph, the vehicle stalled and the check engine warning light illuminated. On one occasion, while driving at various speeds, the vehicle failed to accelerate while the accelerator pedal was depressed. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 33,000. Jo.
I bought my car in March 2014 with only a few miles on it. I had my check engine light come on many times and I was told it was my gas cap. Well after a few months of this I noticed that my car would lose power and although I would press the accelerator my car continued to decline in speed. I have contacted the dealer and they told me to call and make an appointment when the check engine light came on. I tried to explain to them that this happens and it will last a few min to a few days. I was told well that’s odd you don't have any recalls or any complaints on your car. I even asked them about a replacement part that I came across that was done to my are right before I bought it and they told me they have no record. Sure is funny they did the replacement on it. Needless to say I have had my car over year and I can't get any answers on this issue. It’s super dangerous because it usually happens when I am going over 50 mpg.
